Welcome back indeed.

So I've been wondering lately... why do we get so engrossed in gaming? I love gaming, I've been playing since I was in grade school (I started with the original Bard's Tale with my older brother). I've moved through the text games, online text games (MUDs), all the way through things like NWN, BG, etc (I've stayed away from Everquest but I played Diablo II way too much). So why are we so hooked? I just don't understand.

Ravvy, I have a problem.

I have to make a poster for a sponsor, but when I use paint to edit the picture, the background behind lettering is white.

I just want to lay it over it.

Well, that's the problem with Paint. It's incredibly basic.
Do you have any other picture editing programs, at least Publisher? Or could you just copy the picture into Word and stick some text over it there?

You could make a text box and then just fill it with a colour, would that do it?

I'm not sure it will work for what you need, but if you need to use something like Word, you could try downloading Open Office.
It's a free open source word processing programme, and it's very good.

It has a Draw program included, I've never tried OpenOffice though.

You could try Serif software too, that's way better than Paint (or using Word for the same purpose, if you had it). The older programs are free too...
