Oh I'm having a wonderful time this month. I am tired but very happy with the music I am hearing. There are never any Finns here, by the way. Don't you have any folk music there?

I am up because I have people staying with me and I am waiting for them to surface. Otherwise I'd still be asleep too. *counts brownie points*

Hmmm... yes...
But AFAIK only minor part actually listens it, so it's not that popular here. Mostly we listen modern music and classic music, or at least that's what I think.

It's like a parallel universe most places, I think. It's is international and a lot of people like it but unless you do, you won't necessarily be aware of it. Not much mainstream publicity really

What is traditional Finnish music like We had some Russians (or possibly ex-soviets, no offence but I don't know exactly how the politics is working in former soviet states) who came twice a few years ago.They came from somewhere near Finland and they had a peculiar fiddle type thing but with only two (maybe) one string which they used as a drone. Is that a typical thing where you are?

If you mean the instrument I'm thinking then yes, our folk music is quite based to same instrument.

And as for our culture, it splits two ways. We have the Indigenious Australian route, with didgeredoos, and other such instruments. Then you have simply music, much in the same vein as all other forms.

It is a pity about your hair, DJ. But in the circumstances I think the sympathy needs to go to Kipi. Having to cut your hair short in those temperatures is crazy. But it appears that is another instance of army mentality

Don't know any translation to it, but in Finnish it's "Kantele".

Hmm... if it's not Kantele the I can't think of what you are meaning...
