Alright I got another one.
Gumbo is lost again.
1) Gumbo is at an island called Java Island
2) The structure is a very old Temple that was discovered ruined in 1814
3)The temple was believed to be built by Sanmaratungga in the 8th century

My turn again:

Warf's other cousin Peer has once again disappeared. After taking an M1A2 Abrams tank for a test drive at Ft. Knox, he decided to continue his vacation before school starts up again in a couple of weeks. Unfortunately, no one knows where he went, although Command Sergeant Major Michael L. Gravens says he saw him buy a ticket for somewhere in the Caribbean.

1. Peer has gone somewhere that is close (at least in spirit) to the mythical city of Margaritaville.

2. It's hot there, although not eternally.

3. When Dante wrote The Inferno, he surely wasn't talking about this place.

You're getting farther away (Bermuda is about 1,191 nautical miles from Peer).

Havana is a good guess (272 nautical miles away), although still not correct.

A couple of more hints (and you not only need to get the right island, but the city, too):

1. It's in the western Caribbean

2. If Buck had a favourite vacation spot, Peer is there.

3. On the same island is the world's only green turtle breeding location.

Too far south (I'd give you more details, but the distance calculator I use doesn't have Aruba in its database).

I'm doing my best to reconcile these clues with Caribbean Islands, but all I can do is guess...

Nope; Kingston is 316 nautical miles east-southeast of Peer.

(I love the islands for this game; there are sooooooooo many).

One other hint:

Peer is in a chain of islands, and he happens to be on the largest of the islands that make up this group.

EDIT-The clues about the heat and Dante's book are about the town where Peer is staying, not the island.

Hmm, well then I'd say Grand Cayman, but the only town i can give you is Georgetown?

You've got the island; now tell me the town where Peer is staying, and remember it has something to do with The Inferno.

In fact, Peer went there expressly to buy a shirt that said, "I went to ________ and all I got was this lousy t-shirt".
