They keep telling us we're going to get snow, and it keeps raining. Bah.

I just have to say, this week was the first week where I live we actualy had snow banks to block our view when pulling out of the driveway. It's not right for that to occur in March. That starts in mid-november and ends in april here. At least it used to when I was younger.

We had nice massive hailstorms today

Oh did I mention there was a huge rain in victoria a while back? It went on for 2-3 days and the reservoir went up %20! Immediately after the clouds upped and went the sun was back, and boy was it hot. Oh and some bits of Melbourne were totally flooded, there were some deaths, hundreds of thousands worth of stuff destroyed and things like that. And it was the largest rain in Melbourne. The water restrictions have been reduced a bit, now people can actually water their lawn and wash their cars, but I fear the reservoir will go down from it's current %60.

Well, after my moaning, it did actually snow and even settle yesterday morning. I would have gone out and played in the snow, but I had to get to bed.

Snowstorms are fun to play in, much less mess than in the rain.

Yeah, my friend got the car stuck in my unpplowed driveway last snowstorm we had a few days ago. My driveway is long. As we were trying to drive around the car we got the truck stranded out in the field in a mound of snow. We started to dig it out as the plowguy came. He plowed into the field twoards the truck and then he got stuck for a little while. I'm glad to report that we had all the vheicles out by the end of the day. Then we had the driveway plowed.

I also helped my brother build a jump for the sleds, it is now about 7 feet tall and we need a transition landing so it's not so shocking to land.

Then there's work, where I have to break the ice so the horses can get water every day. They are more frisky in season transition than normal, so it's good to keep their attention so they don't run me down I'm keeping my eye on the mustang stallion, concidering for adoption. Me and him have the same hardcore personality and I think he could be a good mount if I can gain his acceptance and train him properly. He is a handfull, let me tell you.

Same here. It amazes me how people can complain that a sunny day with slightly higher than freezing temperatures is a good time to stay indoors. It's as invigorating as possible.

I've been there with getting stuck before. Thats no fun.

As to the horses, my father just married a woman who has 5 at the moment. Two of them have one rather large prizes for jumping and what not. He takes care of them for the most part and up until this past summer had no experience with them so I find it amusing to hear his stories. Wonderful animals, although I can't imagine being cooped up in their stalls all winter.

The snow is melting, there's slippery ice all over the pavement, and sometimes also on the road.

Mists in the morning. This is gonna be a very hot day. Again.

The weather today is crap, just like it was yesterday and the week before the month before that. Cold, dreary, threat of rain, just like my mind.

It seemed the right time for those of us living in the northern hemisphere, to break out this old thread. If nothing else, it provides a place to vent against the evils of so-callled temperate climates, which involve enervating summers and bitter winters.

We actually had a pretty mild winter after two weeks of bitter cold at the start of December. Even a week ago, it was nearly 60 F, with light rain. Now, we have 25 F, and a nice, stiff breeze. I actually saw a middle-aged, slightly overweight idiot jogging today in a t-shirt and shorts--with gloves.

It actually was cool shorts weather here in the Niagara Region a few days ago.

... Then that night it snowed. Stupid weather.

Let's see. Last year we got as low as -54 degrees celsius including windchill. We had several feet of snow up here in the NW (don't know about OS) and we had this biting wind that popped out of nowhere.

This year we celebrated Chistmas with a brown lawn and 14 degrees celsius weather. Calgary and it's weather.

Oh well, if we get sick of it we can drive five minutes to get away from it.
