Well, whenever I quote Shakespeare, The Beatles or *shudder* Queen...it's either a mistake or I don't know it. Ignorance is bliss and I'd prefer it to stay that way. :D ;)

Karine Polwart wrote a nasty wee line in a song about someone like that

"if it's true that ignorance is bliss
you must be coming all the time"

Now that just doesn't sound like you, does it? :o :p

Let me tell you, it's been a hard day's night (excuse the pun). My cat got into flowers he shouldn't have two nights ago, one of which was Tiger Lilly. The problem is Tiger Lilly can cause permanent kidney damage, possibly destroy it, and cause the cat to die. We took him into the vet, his temperature was up and his urine showed high protein meaning kidney damage. He was kept there overnight on a drip, and he hasn't changed, though it usually takes a few days. The bad thing, is that kidney damage is usually irreversible. :(

Thanks Rav.

The other problem, was that he has a tendency to get into flowers and the like, and eat as much as possible. Normally it's just a vomit up, or feeling sick for awhile, and that's why we just thought it would be that. As such, we only admitted him that night, so it would have been in his system for 12-18 hours. And being kidney problems, his body can't handle drugs such as sedatives, which is bad because he can get angry when being handled.

DJ cats are tough and he got help quickly. Hopefully he will get through this.

Edit. I don't know if 12 hours is a long time in this situation. What is it in the flower that does all this damage? Did the vet say much about the mechanism?

@Fiona: Thanks :) .

I'm not sure, my mum did some research on it, as I have no idea what flower is which, and that's why we ended up going. I think it is quite a long time, as his body would have processed most of it already, so it's too late to stop any damage occuring. Hopefully he only ate a small amount of that, and ate other flowers.

Goodbye Slade.
