It's, alas, not the only thing my job consists of. Wish that were true... .
But we're having trouble with our connection and the provider told me that he 'did' something that should have solved the problem and asked me to check whether there is any improvement. And it is my job to follow up on such trifling logistical matters.
This time I can combine the useful with the agreeable.
And anyway: "les excuses sont faites pour s'en servir (et si on ne s'en sert pas on est malade)" loosely translated: excuses are there to be used (and if one doesn't, one is ill/sick/out of one's mind).
