And if your gonna start pulling your piece, let me know so I can close my eyes.

I have several retorts but none qualify towards your gender. Why couldn't you have saved that line for Viv.

hmmmm.....I thought I had already tried every available line on Viv. Although had I realized how that would have sounded before I posted it, I would never have hit the reply button.

*Been away to long, must get back up to speed before someone with more vindictiveness spots one of my brain freezes*

*ahem*
Back to the story, some more random thoughts.

If you want my char elsewhere, I'll just get her back, shouldn't be so difficult. Also, I think those who take care of the orcs will follow the herde once it has run off. We'll give those that are up front, dealing with the drow, some handy back-up once we get to them. :)

So, BS, Nippy and me tackle the orcs. Viv and Jenna look after the cows, maybe with hold animal as Ysh suggested. Thantor will probably join us too. (?)

The rest then would take care of the drow: Gwally, Ysh, DW, T'Lainya up front.

Ned in the back, BS and Nippy too once they've ridden by on the cows.

Viv, Jenna, Thantor and me would join you, following the herde.
, after having directing its stampede as well as we could.

Does this work?

I was thinking along these lines as well. Thantor is concerned about Ysh's mental state, so he isn't likely to let her be the scout. Also, since Hold Animal is a druid spell, she would need to be with the crew in the back if we are going to use her strategy. I was thinking Simbul can take the scout position because she can both cast Invisibility and has the ability to levitate. Since there are mages in the drow party, we will also need some magical firepower up front. DW and T'L will be useful in this regard as well. That would put Gwally, DW, T'L, and Flanders up front and BS, Nippy, Mysteria, Ysh, Thantor, Viv, and Jenna in back. BS and Nippy will be a type of transitional team, since they will move from the back first using the cattle. The rest of the crew in back can move up into position, as Mysteria has suggested, once the cattle have moved against the drow contingent.

I liked the idea of the fireballs because they create immediate confusion and tension. However, I'm not that attached to the idea. I think Ysh's idea of a Hold Animal spell (and perhaps a Web spell since I'm not sure Hold Animal works on orcs) is a good one, since we can both cordon off the tunnel by using the held/webbed cattle so they won't go the wrong way and pick off the enemy with ranged weapons or magic. In place of the a fireball, Thantor has a Golden Lion figurine (like the one in the Ranger Stronghold) that could be used to "motivate" the cattle to move rapidly in the direction we want them to go. ;)

@Than - this sounds good to me :) The hold animal should also hold the orc IIRC, but Ysh has also got web and/or entangle at her disposal...I am happy for Ysh to cast invisibility on herself, then approach the orc/cattle and cast appopriate spells on them before returning to face the drow if need be ;) insect swarms would be useful against the drow mages/priestesses...I won't call myself easy again! :D :p

So let me get this right, Nippy and BS will be keeping hidden beside the cattle, following them towards the orc, correct? After we take care of the orcs we move towards the drow. Is that right?

@Nippy: Well, originally Nippy and BS wouldn't have been involved with the orcs because the fireballs would have started a stampede at the same time we were battling the orcs. But the new plan that is unfolding seems to be taking out the orcs first, so Nippy and BS can help with that. This also explains why we now have more people in the "orc group". Then, when we start the stampede, Nippy and BS will each be ridding one of the cows (but hugging the side, not upright as one would normally do) so they can get behind the drow. Ned insinuated in his post that Flanders could possibly take out the drow on point, which will be positioned behind the main contingent.

Hmmm...have I messed things up? If you would prefer the fire then that is ok by me, I can edit - I did say that ;)

I was only throwing ideas in, I didn't intend to change the story *hug*

Can't we just go with the chain contingency triple abu dalzhim's horrid wilting. We'd take care of the orcs and drow and get a nice steak dinner out of it. Plus it would be a little diet variety for our cowboys, Nippy and BS, who somehow seem to survive on beanie weenies. :D

*********************

I will be able to take out the sucker on point. This will slow the drow down. I'd plan on a quick strike and back to mist to keep them confused and searching.

Another possibility to complicate these simple matters is writing the drow as beginning to take position in a fortifying manner symbolizing an ambush is about to take place near the orcs indicating their presence is already comprimised.

Just trying to throw other ideas out there to see if they interest the group.

Ah...but the nice thing about horrid wilting spells is that they can't affect party members :D :p

@BS
you had better hope that in addition to that bless spell you are also under the effects of an improved haste :D

No, I find the Haste effect to be undesirable in conjunction with the Bless. :p :D

Indeed.......although if time is of the essence haste, bless, chant...and sometimes mass invisibibility, in conjuction, can ameliorate performance. :D
