I was doing very well today. But it couldn't last. :(

Anyway it doesn't matter what I do now. Mixed messages, but either way I am toast, it seems. So I will dance to my own different drum :p

Well we can always hold you up as the living proof that Sir Elton John was wrong.

He has a song called 'Sorry seems to be the hardest word'.

On another note, anyone know how to get a cat to eat something he really doesn't want to? He needs to eat this meet, but he only wants to eat dry food.
toast
hahaha... toast....

Anyhoo, my last post in that serious SYM thread reminded me of something ive been meaning to ask:
Is there a deeper meaning to toe jelly? Do any body parts make some sort of butter or even toast to compliment this jelly? Does it taste like green?, it looks like it would taste like green, with maybe a little white mixed in, but mostly green...
If God did not exist, it would be necessary to invent him.

@ Lestat. So I have helped you to the realisation that Elton John is not the best guide to the human heart? My life has not been in vain :D

@ DJ. I don't know your cat, but when mine was very ill she would only eat fresh food from my finger, and even then not everything. I don't know if your cat is allowed salty stuff but Guinevere liked smoked fish poached in milk, hand fed, when she wasn't well.

I knew another cat who had kidney problems and the vet had advised only dried food. I don't know why, it seemed counter intuitive to me. But have you asked if it is necessary to give him fresh food?

It's just that meat. He only ate it a few times while he was in there, and that was when I hand fed him. Since we've brought him home, he ate it the first day then stopped. I tried heating it up to make it more aromatic, but that didn't seem to help either.

And the vet said feed the meat to him for awhile, we go back this week to put in the urine sample, so depending on that goes we'll see. I'm just not sure what to do though. Should I struggle in vain to feed him this, feed a little bit of dry food, or serve him a whole meal of dryfood. The thing with the meat is that it is low protein, therefore designed for kidney/liver problems.

I really don't know DJ. But if you have not already done so I would phone the vet for advice. This is important and like I said, some medical things are counter intuitive. For all I know the best thing would be porridge.

I would, but they are closed Sundays, and I didn't think about it until after it was closed Saturday (it closes early). He ate the meals Wednesday and Thursday, ate a bit on Friday, and now only eats dryfood.

And what is toe jelly... never heard of it.

@ DJ. Of course I don't know the situation where you are. But I delayed getting advice about my other cat because it was the weekend and the vet was closed. Without wishing to be alarmist that may have been fatal. And I learned that there is an out of hours service here I knew nothing about. Perhaps there is one there too?
