I agree, but do 1 mage armor at first level as well. Perhaps one false life, another protection from arrows, web and scorching ray for 2nd. Fireball, ray of exhaustion and haste for 3rd.
Possibly buy another slow scroll, or make one, would be cheaper but cost XP.

(He doesn't have those other two spells in his book yet.)

2 scrolls web
2 scrolls protect from arrows
2 scrolls dispel
2 scrolls of slow
1 scrolls false life
1 scroll of haste
1 potion ivisibility
2 potions haste
2 potions cat's grace

Yep, it would be 187.5 gp and 15 xp to scribe a slow scroll and 375 to buy it. Just a FYI.
DZ, scribe those spells, False life, web and slow in your book now.
You should consider memorizing false life. Here take a look-
1 hour/level or until discharged; see text
You harness the power of unlife to grant yourself a limited ability to avoid death. While this spell is in effect, you gain temporary hit points equal to 1d10 +1 per caster level (maximum +10).
Could be what keeps you alive if you get hit, and it lasts for 5 hours at your level or until you take that much damage. 6-15 H.P. bonus for you.

(It takes a day for each scribed spell scroll BTW) total that is 3 days needed.

Ahhh, good point. Sry about that then. I'll update the sheet with his info on it.
I forgot it took about 5 days to get here even at 60MPH.

He was going to save a slow scroll and memorize that too I thought I suggested to him when we got those scrolls? 1 of each to scribe.
