Nah, nothing special, we had the rain yesterday, just wind today.
Another time we had a sub who was trying to muck around and was shutting down people's computers, so I ran the dos command to remove myself from the network

. They never understood why everyone but me was having their computer shut down

.
@Rav: Good work, it's a tough fight.
Oops, gtg, seeyas soon.

Nice one.
The kraken wasn't too hard. I just needed the strategy- lots of dodging, then running back to hit stuff. Before I was trying to hit the tentacles while they were still up.
Cya later DJV.

Back now...
Yeah, well that's the thing, once you figure it out it's easy.
And now for another story... we all got busted for using dos commands, and they've banned them now

.

How does that work anyway?
Is there some type of command?

Yeah...
Don't try this at home kiddies! For my next experiment, I shall remove myself from the network I am currently in...
Go into dos (or alternately make a txt file and then save it as a bat, that's what we had to do).
Then type in 'ipconfig /release' enjoy

Hmm, nice. Maybe I'll try that at University.

I wouldn't suggest it, first of all, you lose the network so you lose the internet.
Second of all, it's considered hacking.
Though I do have a better command for you, if you need it. Just answer me this... do the computers you use have a timelimit on them until it automatically logs off?

Uh...I think it locks after a while, but that's not really logging off. Only the person who was logged in can then unlock it (apart from administrators of course, they can probably unlockl them all).
Okay, I'll try it on a different network.

So do you have a timelimit that you can use them for, or can you use them for as long as you want?

It's like a screensaver timeout. If nothing happens for a while it locks the computer. I don't think it logs out.
It justs shows a dialog box with it saying that it's locked and nothing else.
AFAIK there aren't any other time limits.

Oh ok, well I'm talking about that you can log on for say, 15 minutes, and then when that runs out, it will log you out automatically.
I know a dos command to change that, it has helped a few times

Nice.
The lock feature is probably just replacing an automatic logout. Though it might do that too eventually.

Yeah, well if you are ever being beaten by a timer, then ask me what to do... just make sure you don't get caught

Heh, you are quite the DOS expert aren't you?

Well, not only was I originally raised on it, but you'd be surprised how much it can do, and especially, how many ways it can bypass Windows. That's part of the reason it has been so out-lawed in the later versions of Windows.

It opens so many doors...
Though I never use these powers for evil, in fact, I've used to dos to remove many a virus.

i used to make bat files some time ago... do you remember how to "send" a message? i mean that when you run the program a message will popp up.
i remember that you needed to type in the name of the computer.
back btw

There was a program called Winpopup in Windows 98 I think. We used that like MSN on the network.
But I think it was eventually caught.
As for dos commands, I've seen a wheel full of them (one of those little cardboard things)

Alrighty then, you sing on.
@Rav, yeah, that was awesome. We spammed the whole system with that message... unfortunately they could track us down. They disabled it, but I found the code to enable it

.
Anyway, gonna go, seeyas.
