The gnomes face is covered with a genuine smile, and a small tear is visible in his eye "Thank you, friend. Now, as I tell, you may not think well of my brother at first, but i assure you, he is a nice guy, he has just done to many bad choices, like me. It all started five years ago, right before the local thieves guild was chased out of Indion by the sheriff and Cuthbertians. My brother, Wanntikkpall, had encountered some adventurers in the possession of a relic of Joker (nickname of Garl Glittergold), and was desperate to claim it so that it could be in the hands of the local temple. The adventurers were not so happy to oblige though, and one of them, a really shady fellow said he only wished to depart with it if ha could keep a great card game in memory, with bets. So he collected what little money he had, and got absolutely ripped. My brother is a stubborn one, and decided to borrow money from some shady people at the F'rall (nickname of the Coinwell's For All), two hundred gold I think it was. He took half the money he borrowed, and tried to bet them in one night against the adventurer with the relic, this time he used his magic, to cheat. The adventurer found out, and I have never seen anyone so beaten as that night. Sheriff said his hands were tied, and that the adventurer had 'immunities'. Next night, my brother, barely able to stand, went to the bar again, to bet the other half, as he got home, idol in hand he swore he had not cheated. But we had all completely forgotten about his debt, seeing the pun-stick of the Joker was all we could think of. Night after that again though, he ran away, telling me to take care of his family, because the guild was after him as soon as they understood he would never be able to pay them back."
The gnome, tearful, draws breath "Less than a month later we found out the guild had been taken down by the sheriff and that the adventurers had helped him, thus he could not arrest them. And now, five years later we have still not been able to contact him." He looks at you "Thank you for helping, if I were not tied I would have hugged you."
(sorry for the big block of text there, but he speaks like a gnome, not often allowing paragraphs.)

You get to a hill and look at the road, as Kolgar yanks the rope, you see a section of snow, few feet in front of the leading moose, disappear, seemingly falling trough the ground.
(you got the names right yes. Should I maybe create a post on the other thread where I write names and some words about characters you encounter?)

Kolgar
You pull the rope, with a quick yank it gives in, and you manage to pull it for almost two feet before it stops and seems stuck, as if something big not able to pass trough the pipe is on the other side.
(as for what would be nice if you changed on the sheet I have posted on the other forum earlier: http://www.gamebanshee.com/forums/forum ... ost1084136 )

Everyone
The following events are a split second chain, actions will only be able right after the events described.
The leading moose seems to have been startled by something, possibly the sudden disappearance of snow. It backs away from its worry and the wagon it is attached to hits the moose behind it. This one, seemingly much more calm simply gives the charging wagon a quick blow with a hoof. Inside the leading wagon you hear a thud and a bottle breaking. The ones closest to the wagon also hear flames from within.

Out of game: You don't have to write the names separately, just when you use them, you should associate the names with the characters. I think this way there will be no confusion.
This is by the way my last post before heading out, I will write back as soon as I return.

In the game:
I try to stand up, scream and warn others of the impeding danger.

You dash towards the caravan as you hear the screams of the merchant from within the wagon (has not introduced himself by name) and Meliss (halfling caravan leader) that tries to calm down the moose in front of him.
(As you were quite far away from the caravan as the fire started, some time will be spent to get there, and out of character knowledge and suggestions is quite fine by me, as long as your character does not cry it out before a successful spellcraft or the like.)

"By the Gods!" I exclaim as I hear the commotion back at the caravan, dashing towards it as fast as my feet can carry me.

As you took the prisoners back to camp you are very near and can act immediately to the scene in front of you: a fire is building up inside the front caravan.

I make a few quick gestures and point a finger at the flames raging inside the caravan, hoping to freeze them with a Ray of Frost.

Your reflexes and quick mind manage to stop the flames at their core before they spread to far, although you hear a pained grunt from within the wagon.

You manage to get a hold of the reins of the moose, and with the cooperation of Meliss you calm the moose enough for it not to cause any havoc in it's distress.

Out of game:

I am back guys! Seems the story hasn't advanced too far without me. Either way I wanted to let you know I am available.

You manage to stick your hand through the hole in the burnt cloth of the wagon, pulling out the merchant, most of his robes are heavily burnt, revealing a chain shirt of remarkable. Also, by your judgment, he is not that heavily burnt, only minor damage on his hand "thanks, I was on my way out though" he merchant wheezes.

It seems like some great pit trap has been designed to trap and kill those unfortunate enough to fall down, by your judgment it was about 30 feet deep before the snow fell inn, and 20 feet wide, it is also 10 feet across, seemingly featureless except from dirt walls and a huge wooden hatch as the earlier roof.
(meaning there is not actually a hatch down there)

Onid looks cautiously towards the pit,

"I agree. Let's move to Mainport. The sooner we get there, the better."

"Of course" Meliss exclaims "get aboard then" he says and starts maneuvering around the pit "oh and Onid, was it? Would you mind getting the tent from the bandit camp, seems we need to get some patching done here." his small head nods to the scorched cloth behind him.

Onid looks a bit surprised towards the tent, then raises his shoulders unconvinced,

"Sure thing. You think this rag might be useful? Just a moment to pack the tent then."

"thanks" Meliss comments "I will just maneuver around here in the meantime." As you get back with the heap of cloth they are done getting around the pit and ready for departure back into the forest.

(any actions during the trip should be done now, and please limit yourselves within the time of going on from this encounter to the night that comes after.)
