Sounds like an interesting topic - what are your conclusions so far?Originally posted by Georgi
Oh, well I don't have a title yet, but something to do with women's role in magic in antiquity - lots of texts accuse all women of being witches, but most magicians seem to have been men... Yep, 10,000 words...
I love your optimistic and cheerful attitude toward lifeposted by Dot
Nope, not working tonight and things arent any worse then they usally are.
Oh, that old thing, I really ought to change that...Originally posted by Dottie

Umm, mostly that I should do some reading Well, really most of what I know so far is what I've noticed in the sources throughout the course. But "magician" was usually a term used to refer to one's enemies, or people on the fringes of society, so that could be an angle to look at. If I do it for my dissertation, I could also include the implications of the abundance of female demons in the sources.Posted by CE:

That must be a struggle! How is it going? My problems are exactly the opposite - trying to cram in some 2 years of research work into 1500 words *sigh*
Rather than killing him, how about getting him to buy you a new one?Originally posted by Bloodstalker
Grabs a drink, listens to the big words flying about, winks at Georgi and CE, and ponder how to kill his brother for cracking his baldur's Gate CD.
So, what are the differences between being a "magician" and being a "witch"? And why the lack of female demons? What could it implicate do you think?by Georgi

I'm developing migraine No, it's actually is going quite well, but it's frustrating because you never get any flow in your writing, it's a weeks work behind every sentence

Perhaps you ought to put some more effort into making yourself happy?Originally posted by Dottie
@CE: Im doing my best to make you all happy.
In that case, I shall leave it But I usually change my sigs every few weeks, haven't changed that one for ages. Might have to add something newOriginally posted by Dottie
@Georgi: please dont, it spreads a painfull smile over my face whenever i look at it.
Im leaving that to you and georgi, you are doing quiet well so far.Originally posted by C Elegans

Don't ask It's just about impossible to have a solid definition of anything to do with magic, since usually people only used it to refer to what other people did (rather than, say, their own counter-curses, or whatever). Abundance of female demons, not lack of them... I'm not sure about that part yet, I need to do more researchOriginally posted by C Elegans

That must be annoying. With my essays, I usually struggle to find enough to say to meet the word limit...I'm developing migraine No, it's actually is going quite well, but it's frustrating because you never get any flow in your writing, it's a weeks work behind every sentence
Sorry, I thought abundance meant "lack of". So what does it mean?Originally posted by Georgi

I did too, at uni. I don't know what lenght would be suitable for me - not writing at all perhaps My brother in law is a chemist, at his lab they have a really strange system. The PhD:s do the experiments, then their prof writes all the articles, they just leave the results to him

It was wonderful, but exhausting. My dad has a bad back, which means he can only do so much walking at a time, so we rented a wheelchair for him and I was the one lucky enough to get to push him around in it. I also found that my shoes are not the best for walking around that much, even though I have no problem walking all over the mall in them. By the last day, yesterday, my feet and legs were hurting so badly that I spent more time in the wheelchair than my dad did. The rides were fun, though the only rollercoaster I went on was the Matterhorn. I thought about going on the California Screamin' at California Adventure, but it looked too scary, though the part where you go from 0-55mph in less than 5 seconds didn't sound at all scary, since I do that in my car at least twice on the way to and from school. Several rides we wanted go on, such as Splash Mountain and Pirates of the Carribean were closed. I also found that sometimes wearing a miniskirt is not the best idea, though I'm sure any guys around thought it was a great idea.Originally posted by C Elegans
Yo, SS, I saw in some thread that you've been away with your parents to Disneyland? How was it?

How did you guess?Well, sounds like a good topic anyway, and you have plenty of time to do research now
read: plenty of time to be anxious over the fact that you should read but don't read, then the last two days when you actually read

Is there a phobia word for the fear that what you're standing/sitting on is going to break/collapse or something like that?
1. Thanks, it's really horrible to think of how many English sentences I must have misunderstood since I thought it meant "lack of" :rolleyes"by Georgi

Does it really count as being "published" if you don't write it yourself? That sounds weird to me...3. Well, you are supposed to learn how to write articles, since this is your major means of communication, especially in the experimental sciences, like chemistry Well, he is happy since writing good articles in generally considered the most difficult part of research, and he gets published without having to write.
