uh, this one seemed quite a bit easier than the wellyn one.... :)

Easy for a person who knows the game inside out I'm sure. :)

Ahh, I can think of three altough one doesn't really kill (the game ends because you are no better than dead though) so I am going to have to say:

A: What is the Rapture of the Father?

Originally posted by araknid70 Hmm. I'm assuming JediColt was answering the lavok question... although i dont know if haer'dalis ever stated that he wanted to die on the PMP. well, never took him as a party member. Sorry if you're correct, JediColt. :p

Nay, Haer'dalis doesn't care where he dies but he *does* seem happy enough when he dies (and makes me very happy) as he says: "Oblivion, at last!"

Btw, while Haer'dalis is saying his oblivion line above, you can usually hear me say "thank god the bastard finally died!" if I am done with his quest and don't need him anymore OR "the imbecile managed to commit suicide again (despite his 10+ buffs) if I am not done with his quest. :D

OK, if I got your question right, mine is:

"I will heed no ________ peasant". :D

araknid70, you're thinking imprison, but that's not exactly correct either, since freedom will restore the creature..unless the person imprisoned is the pc..

and rapture of the father cannot be used by the party...it will crash the game..

cutscene power word kill, which is not a spell you can learn in the game, but must be cheated in via shadowkeeper, will kill dragons, demi liches, the five, demogorgon in one cast, ignores magic resistance, and cannot be saved against...the ultimate cheaters spell...makes the game far far far too easy...

glacious can be charmed using the ring of earth control, ring of human influence, or domination... then a dispell magic can sometimes dispell both the charm and your spell, and he will go up to you, thank you for getting him out of charm spell, and take off after giving you the flail head... :p

I wasn't thinking of imprisonment. Firstly it doesn't kill anyone, secondly it isn't just one person that can cast it. True, ranged imprisonment can only be cast by demiliches; but they don't kill, all the same.

I was thinking of Rapture of the Father... admittedly it cannot be cast by the party, but I never said that it had to be. Drow transformation can't be cast by the party either, but it's cast by Adalon. I'm asking the question (answer) based on the assumption that SK isn't used. Rapture of the father is cast by Irenicus only, and isn't affected by any statistic the target may possess. However the question is a little controversial... hence the confusion. Apologies for the question... it appears that most definitive questions seem to have been exhausted, heh.

In other words, Black_Paladin is right!

"I will heed no peasant?"
Is the answer to do with the blank or to do with whomever said that? Haha, anyway, I have no idea, although Roenall is the only NPC I remember that uses the word peasant... although he may not have said the above sentence. Well somehow I can't get the blank in, sorry...

As for Glacias, Dan Simpson's FAQ mentions that Glacias will have to be charmed, then hit (damaged) before his circle turns from blue to green (about one second). He will then turn hostile, and the uncharm script will kick in.

try cutscene power word kill...

its the ultimate cheater's uber spell...it will kill dragons instantly...

look for it among the 9th level spells in shadowkeeper... :p

You are 100% correct. The first thing that came to my mind was Trap the Soul. This is what Kangaxx and the other demi lich in Watcher's Keep cast and it is different than imprisonment in that it can be cast from a distance (to cast imprisonment, you have to touch the creature you want to imprison). As you said however, neither imprisonment, nor Trap the Soul kills (altough the game ends as if you died if you get your PC imprisoned). As a result, a little bit of thinking rules out imprisonment and Trap the Soul as your question says that the spell kills.

Your question is a good one too! The Rapture of the Father *IS* the only spell in the game that can be cast by a single person and kills without save or MR.

My third possibility after reading your question was "wish". Yes, wish! This is because in the cutscene where Irenicus kills you if you try to take him on alone in Spellhold, you can see in the roll bar below that he is casting "wish" to kill you. Bizarre yes *BUT* altough no other character can kill with wish, tons of people can cast this spell! So, wish is out too.

As a result, there is only one correct answer to the question and your question is not ambigious. :)

I was actually going to type "fill in the blank" for this sentence but I thought it would be obvious that was what I wanted so I didn't type that. :)

Galuf the Dwarf got the question right (churlishness) so I guess the next question is his. Almost all nobles in the game say "I will heed no churlisness peasant" when you click on them (I find the really snotty way they say this hilarious! :) ) so I asked this pretty much out of humor's sake.

For Glacias, first of all, I am not a very big fan of Dan Simpson's walkthrough as it is not complete and has several mistakes in it. I got a couple other walkthroughs which are in my opinion much superier and detailed but that's just me. After all, there are zillions of walkthroughs for this game.

To reason why Glacias can't be charmed easily is explained in detail in several threads on this forum but suffice it to say that you are going to have trouble with casting charm on him with a high level character. A LOW level character might work. The ring of Human Influence will **ALWAYS** work because it casts the spell at a certain level and it is a low level (don't know what level).

Hitting him and doing other things to kick his script in might work because of exploits and bugs but there is absolutely no reason to do this.

There are actually fixes for Glacias made by members here but I have yet to see a fix included in a mod.

UserFriendly,

Sorry but I don't use any cheats or ShadowKeeper so I didn't know about that spell.

I guess nobody specified any rules for our jeopardy on this thread so perhaps we should make some.

I propose that we only ask questions about things that can be found or used in a plain vanilla SoA or ToB game (no mods or add-ons).

I personally love mods and add-ons but I am sure that not everybody has every mod or add-on (some are not even compatible with each other) and there so many of them that it would be unfair to ask questions from a mod or add on.

Similarly, I am sure that not everybody has ShadowKeeper so let's not ask questions about things that can be found in ShadowKeeper but are not actually implemented in the game.

After all, we have TONS of things to ask about from a plain vanilla SoA or ToB game if we think a little bit. :)

Anyway, I think Galuf has the next question. If we don't get an answer in a day, I suppose someone else can pose a question.

Perhaps we should make a rule on what happens if the person that needs to ask the next question doesn't ask the question.

It's good to hear back from you. :)

Mulligan replied to your question but I have a different answer (question :) )

My guess to your question is: What is Blackmist?

Mulligan, it's great to have more people participate in this! We seem to have resurrected this thread from the ashes! :)

I wonder if Bloodmist is still around.

I forgot about Blackmist, never played THAT evil...

I guess you win this one, Black_Paladin. I look forward to your next Q/Answer. I really fell for this thred. :)

Great to be part of a Great Community :) :) :)

well, Blackmist isn't exactly received late in the game... more like mid-game (chapter 5), depending on whether one does the bulk of quests in chapter 2 or chapter 6. Well, for Black_Paladin it appears that he did ALL the quests in chapter 2... so chapter 5 seems end-of-game. :D

By the way, Black_Paladin, how did you get the name "Trap the Soul"? I swear I never saw the name in my info bar when I fought Kangaxx...

Okay, so the "dark" part goes to their skin; I thought it possibly was their personality.

For some reason, I have no idea... :(

Aye, the dark part be referring to skin! I be sure that ye knows this but I be not making this question too easy by giving all the details. ;)

Kalah indeed be short yet he nae be dark skinned either!

Ye are doing right by going with your second statement though, because to get this question right, ye needs to be takin a shot in the *dark*. ;)
