You get it in the underdark. It isn't as good as some of the other weapons, but I like the originality of it. Just cool!

Edit: Life Stealer is a user created item, I believe. Does anyone know if it's something you can CLUA but just not included in actual gameplay? I haven't seen it before.

Rail,

Thanks, man!

By the way, I just noticed with my Assassin character, that when I used a missile weapon (an ordinary short bow equipped with arrows +1); his POISON WEAPONS ability does'nt seem to work.

Is this ability works only with melee weapon?

That's strange. My poison weapons works fine with arrows. Do you have any patches installed or anything?

Dagger +4 live stealer is a dagger that Artemis Entreri (one of drizzt foes) uses but he was removed from the game but the dagger remains.

On the topic of Artimis's stats, 13 strength is not very weak at all, it is actually a bit above average, though by BG standards we see him as weak because all of our characters wouldn't be caught dead without at least 16 strength. In PnP, it would be a fairly good score to have, seeing as he has god-like dexterity, as well as high intelligence and wisdom.

The dagger remains?
So how/where can I get it?

I always wondered how they wanted to add Artemis Entreri. Where would he fit into the story?

@Pungyol- I believe the dagger can be adden in with shadowkeeper or you can use the CLUA Console, but I don't think you can find it in the game. Drakron will know for sure. In other words, believe it's found in the item files of the game, but they didn't have the item actually used in game play. Kind of like some of the imported items from BG1.

Hello guys....i'm back from my easter vacation....
I'm happy to see this topic is growing....(Dude i know you always do your best.... ).
Welcome GrimReaper.
About the dagger, a very nice one is the +3 throwing ragger. I also experienced problems with poison backstabbing with my assassin. It doesn't work with arrows and bows.... :(

hi Edwin welcome back
but one thing: why are u all discussing about daggers for assassins?
I never used daggers always long/short swords and the Celestial Fury :D
the only time in the game when i use daggers is when i have a mage and those are better of with a dagger (can get some good daggers early on) then with a quarter staff.

THAT IS OFCOURSE UNTIL U GET THE STAFF OF THE MAGI :D :D :D

I have a question about the Large Swords and backstabbing. Do you miss more often if you use a Long Sword or Katana over a Short Sword? For some reason this seems to be happening to me. Mainly while backstabbing. The only thing I could think of was the number of attacks I got, which was more with the short sword, but still I almost never hit with my Celestial Fury or Daystar even when I wasn't backstabbing. Don't know if this makes a difference but I was using a Halfling Assassin with a 19 str belt. Any ideas?

that is strange i had know problem with backstabbing with the Fury or Daystar, and i used them almost the whole game trough.
My assassin was a dwarf so i got less dex, only 17 :( but a halfling can get upto 19 dex right??
and i gess with dex of 19 u should be able to backstab with anu kind of weapon.
(correct my if i'm wrong :D )

It's kinda hard to stab something with a blunt object, regardless of your DEX ;) :D

Ok so there are some things that don't backstab :D
But still if u are wise enough not to equip youre assassin with quarter staffs and clubs :D :D and havea dex of 19 u should be able to backstab.

ok so here s the other thing
to all the solo sorceres of the Shadow Mages
yesterday i finished the game with my assassin and imidiatly started over with a solo Sorceror.
So to all the sorc. what are youre stats and what do u consider to be the best spells for lvl 5.
(this same dicussion is on another post but if i want to get this topic to get over 500 posts it should be here too :D :D :D :D )

my stats are:

str.14
dex.18
con.15
int.18
wis.13
cha.10
(took alot of rerolling :D )

the problem with lvl 5 spells is this what should be the fourth spell
3 are nobrainers: Breach,Animate Death and Lower Resistans.
but what should be the fourth; Cloudkill, Chaos, Spell imunity or Sunfire ??

I have a solo elf sorcerer with stats somewhere near these:

str-18
dex-19
con-16
int-10
wis-can't remember, not that important
cha-very low, get the ring almost immediately

I think wisdom should be at least 10 and about the charisma, you can just switch out the ring when you need it, then cast friends (one of the spells I took) and get some good discounts. Works quite well. Also, while I'm we're discussing solo sorcerers, some key spells are friends, stoneskin, knock, and melf's minute meteors. Also, have at least one spell that summons other things to help you. I like animate dead the best.

So is it TRUE??!!
That the Assassin Poison Ability works only for melee weapon?

For a solo sorcerer,IMO, must have spells are:
-skull trap (incredible damage that grows up with lvl)
-sunfire (same as skull trap, moreover is centered on the PC.......helpful when surrounded)
-lower resistance.....how can you defeat immune to magic enemies without this?????
-stoneskin
-summon skeleton (helpful vs drows....that come in groups and have high magic resistance)
-.....i'll think on more spells later.... :D
