Heh, thanks Gwalchmai...here's an excerpt from the thread, posted by Brink:
I apologize for not updating this guide with part 3 as I am very busy at the moment.Below will be the ranking system contributed by none other than Ubik,a regular poster in here .Sadly, this will have to do until I have more time on my hands.Enjoy
OK ladies and gents, you asked for and you ‘r gonna get it!
This is the new system, applicable only to the SYM forum
It is based on two factors. One is the number of your postings. The second is the content of them. A third – less defining but still usefull – is the general behavior of yours. So , there will be three definitions for each member. #1 and #3 are standard for everybody (depending on # of posts and behaviour) while #2 is unique. #2 could consist of more than one words, limited to three due to lack of space.
So, here it is:
1. According to the # of posts
- Amoeba 0-100 posts
- Sea cucumber 100
- Jr. Member 300
- Member 500
- Spammer extraordinaire 1000
- Elder God 1500
- Philosopher 2500
- Desperate Loner 3500
- Sheep Farmer 5000
2.Behavior indication
-Very kind and friendly, gives answers and helps newbies: Weasel
-Kind and friendly, helps people: Cookie giver
-Friendly, flames only occasionally: Romantic
-Flames but with a good cause, not very friendly: Butt Pirate
-Involved in major flame wars, insults people: Moron
-Flames everyone with no reason, really bad: Higher Moron
3. Personal status:
This is more complicated. Everyone has a personal profile everybody else can see, based on the way he/she/it behaves around the board. So, we can use that image to give him the appropriate name.
For example:
- Fouldimersomething: Goatlover
- Gruntboy: Marine Lover, Princess
- Waverly: Flirtbag, Wanker
- Minerva: Wise Owl
- Alexia: Hulk or Mistress
- Ubik: Pervert
Hm...I guess I'm a sea cucumber, a butt pirate, with no personal status I know of.

I know, bob, I know....
I'm just a traitor all over. Now, whaddaya say we think up a good contest in which we will have the advantage over the "vets"?
(I always hated the word vet. People say "He's a vet", and I wonder "What the heck kind of vet?")
Level 2 newbie is taken from the SYM bbq. We have 200-300 posts. That makes us level 2. I think we'll be level 3 when we hit 300. But to tell you the truth, I'm starting to really just feel like a level 50 geek, all the time I spend spamming these days. Just think about the geek level of those with like 5,000 + posts!
Hmmmmmmmmm......

*snicker* and in SYM that has an even more disturbing connotation....
I mean some people could be livestock vets.. some could specialise in small animals... still others probably have an interest in more exotic pets....

This is what I'm SAYING!!!!
Now why on earth would you want to be a livestock vet, having to do "checkups" on donkeys, sheep and the like? Well, some members of this forum maybe disagree, that it's very much what they would love to do......

Well for those that enjoy 'running sheep on weekends'...

running sheep on weekends??? I dont understand... oh well I probalby dont want to either. but you are right, who would want to be a large animal vet when:
1- the things they are required to do!!! stick their hands in places where hands arent meant to be stuck and sqeeze things to make certain other things happen in a very unnatural way involving.... not fun stuff.
2- small pets. people are INSANE about their fluffy little pooches and cats, and I can understand that. I am a big dog person, but these millionaire ladies with thier lap dogs... they would pay 100 grand to give their dog a surgery that makes it live a year longer. i have heard of dog liposuction.... thats where the money is.
3- well i had somehting in mind but i forgot it, and lets face it one and two should be enough to convince anyone not to want to mess with horses.

LOL!!!!
This reminds me of a very funny story which I will now relate:
It happened when I was about 17, and I had put my old car in the paper to sell.
A man called up after seeing the ad, and asked about the car. He was very friendly, and was asking me lots of questions about the area in general, since he had just moved there. During the course of conversation, he mentioned that he needed workers to help care for his horses, and he was paying $24 an hour. Did I know anyone who might be interested? Well, hell! For $24 an hour??? ME!!!! I LOVE horses, I said. (imagining that shovelling horse puckey would be the worst I would have to do...)
He then proceeded to go into the details of the job. Turns out he sold Clydesdale sperm to breeders. So THAT'S why he'd pay $24 an hour!!!!!
.....and yet more details, concerning the process by which they - ahem - "extract" the sperm, and EXACT TECHNIQUE... (lol) and also the LENGTH and WIDTH of the male clydesdale's... ahem....
HAHAHAHAHA!!!!
And I just listened the whole time, because I knew I was gonna have one hell of a story by the time I got off the phone with him!
LOL!!!!!

I can just see it now...
curious friend: So tell me about your summer job, what do you do?
Boernica: Well.. I um... milk horses...
curious friend: Is that sort of like goat's milk, a new health food kick or something?
Boernica: Er... not exactly...
curious friend: What do you mean? When will they be selling it in the grocery store, or is it just being marketed to a more specialised clientelle?

Or.....
curious friend: So tell me about your summer job, what do you do?
Boernica: I show Clyde a good time.

Of COURSE I took the job! It was $24 an hour! Not bad for 17!
And besides, what better way to practice your "technique"?
Posted: Thu Jul 15, 2004 9:14 pm
by dragon wench
Okay, and I thought *I* was in danger of going over the limits
LMAO!
But if you say, 'I show Clyde a good time for $24 an hour' that doesn't sound too great

I know! That is DEFINITELY not enough of a wage for what it implies!!!!
Posted: Thu Jul 15, 2004 9:20 pm
by dragon wench
On the other hand, it
beats flipping burgers for minimum wage and saying to customers, 'would you like the works with that?'

i would take the job. 'i work on a ranch for a new guy in town and i make a helluva lot more than you!!!!' im 15. im going for a car. if you wanted me to be the guy who dons a aritight suit and swims through the sewers unclogging pipes for 24 dollars an hour I would do it. besides I am looking at becoming a 'vet' and hey its a good way to start saving up for a vet... harty har har. bad joke...
