Anything goes... just keep it clean.

However, the quote you mention says he was waiting 18 more days for a 10 day party. It doesn't fit. IIRC, that was posted at October 5th. The party has yet to begin....

OK, I checked through the web and some local news media of his home town. Magrus doesn't seem to have become a news item, at least not by name.
Of course I was only able to check what's available on line. For one obscure reason or another local up-state NY newspapers are hard to get in Liberia. ;)

This one gave me one theory:
What if Mag got himself to the group or such which is arranging that party? In that case it maybe wouldn't be that big wonder if he isn't able to come here, since such a party surely demands lots of preparation.
I'm also basing this one to comments like "I'll see what I can do if I have time" he made to Sterwick campaign -discussion thread, which you can access either from the Forum Members RPG or from my sig's link.

@ Demo & Kipi: it's not only that he hasn't been here a while, but also that he hasn't replied to emails and such. If someone doesn't reply to a "haven't heard from you for a while, everything OK?" type of message, it adds to the concern.
There is probably a good reason for all of this, and afterwards we'll all feel silly for worrying so much. But I'd rather feel silly for worrying, than feel sorry for not worrying.

Yes, I agree with you there.
I just throw in some ideas why he hasn't showed up or hasn't answered to mails.

@ Lestat: Good, I have been searching in the NYT for a while, but was fairly distarcxeted with something the crazy guy ahead of me calls work. Nice to know someone sane found nothing...

Anyways, he still has not responded to any of the emails, and I am tinking that we should ask his ISP for his home email.

@ Demo: :p Well, I never thought it would take MAgrus so long to warm up... :D

Hi. I'm just in, and I was going to see what I could find in the local papers's sites. I gather Lestat has already done this. Anyone think of anything else I can help with ?

I think, at this point, given that any of the leads and ideas we have had, have turned up nothing..
We are down to contacting his ISP...
or starting to plough through the MacDonald's list.

Wish Oscuro Sol would put in an appearance.......
@Hill, you said she lives in Calgary... can you think of any way she might be contacted?

About the only other thing I can think of, and this is likely premature and would involve money, is to place some personal ads in some of those local papers, in the hope that either Mag or somebody who knows him will see them.
Something like:
"Magrus aka "insert real name" Your friends at SYM are worried, please check in"

But.. I view that idea as a much later step ... and there is no guarantee it would lead anywhere. Would we be sure we had the right papers, given that he may have moved? Would our ad even be seen?

OK. Let me know if anyone has a good idea which needs unskilled labour

PS. Athena spoke to someone in his old place and he seemed to have some expectation of seeing Magrus/speaking to him. Would it be bad to ask him to make a point of it ? Or at least if he knows where Magrus works ? Or if the landlord has a forwarding address?

Sorry. I was posting and over 20,000 charatcer post series in the Death Ray thread.

the question is, how would you go around finding someone? All I know is what quandrant fo Calgary she livges in and that she still lives with her parents, and that she knows about the 400 dollar cheques everyone in Calgary is getting.

Anyone know more, like her last name? So I can get in contact with her? :D She told me somewhere along the lines, I think...

I agree; I was thinking about that track myself. Though last night Athena mentioned she had no number that would help us out

Any chance you'd be able to PM her Fiona? :)
I would.. but my PM box is threatening rebellion as it is

Ok i am going to be a spoil sport here, but searching for one person across the net is fine. But i do not think Sol would appreciate us looking her up. There is a valid reason for magrus, there is no reason to start to hunt Sol down. I know emotions are running high but lets think about this logically, practically and legally. This is definitely invasion of privacy and i believe it is very much a grey area. I suggest we stick to magrus and not hunt sol down.

Now we wait for sol and athena and see what they can say or do. Till then everybody sit tight. All the numbers were dead ends. There is no way to do anything else without these two so lets wait on them.

Yes, we have already decided upon that. :D Didnt you get that email? No wait, I only sent that one to DW...

Anyways, pretty much someone should email SOl, tell her whats going on quickly, and see if she has the time to do so. Siomple, and we are not prying into anything. :)

Hey, Ive been thinking! I just wanted to contact Mags ISP, thats all! :D

However, the spear header of this operation, DW, has much more effiecient plans to make sure that we find out exactly what is going on, which we all want to know...
