I decided to go on a two-day bender this weekend. I'm 2/3 through my first 750 mL bottle of wine. I have another of those, a 1.14 L bottle of gin, and a six pack of beer to go, plus I'm going to a bar tonight and tomorrow night.

I figured I should make some record of this on GameBanshee, in case I die from sheer joy (read: alcohol poisoning), and anyone wonders where this idiot went.

Though I noticed no one questioned my absence over the past week...

*snickers* You think Athena just flirts with you? That's a riot.

@ Aramant, spike your wine with raspberry vodka! It's great! Oh, I wondered where you were, and assumed you were drunk somewhere. :p

Actually, I only got drunk twice that whole week. The first time involved the biting, and the second time involved me, a 52 year old lady, a thong, and inappropriate discussion. Oh, and coffee and Taco Bell for breakfast the next day. Seriously, that diet is fit only for the constipated. I found that out too late.

As for the raspberry vodka... no. I already spent $70 on alcohol, not counting the upcoming bar runs. It might not seem like a lot, but I'm only approx. 130 lbs., and I plan to stay functionably drunk throughout, not pass out midway.

 Taco Bell is horrid stuff, mixing it with coffee is asking for freak bowel problems. Innapropriate discussions with someone more than double your age involving a thong can't be good....

Yeah, that's a lot of money man. Bar's are horrid on a budget. See, I buy cheap wine, and then spike it with fruit flavored vodka. Take a 5 liter box of wine and a liter of vodka, mix and poof! You have high strength wine with a kick to it. It's a happy buzz.

Well, my 750 mL wines are Canada VQA and approx. $10 CAD each, so that's not bad. The gin was $34 CAD, and the six-pack was premium beer. Then tax, so... yeah.

Hah, something that enormously annoyed me when I was in the states and Aramant's mentioning of taxes brought it back: you don't mention on price tickets and menus what you're actually gonna pay.

:p

Yeah, I know. But after a while it sort of becomes second-nature to estimate the price into what you're buying.

Oh yeah, if you don't know that...that would most definately screw up your day. Most places put "plus tax" somewhere, although a lot of the little family owned places don't bother.

@ Aramant, yeah that will add up. See, this is why I just get cheap vodka when I feel like drinking a lot. $13-$15 American for 1.75 liters of 40% alcohol content fluid is cool with me. I just grab a few bottles of Coke and for $20 I get wicked drunk. Screw taste. Now, if I am drinking to just relax...I go with a decent quality rum and make rum and cokes. A bit more expensive, but it tends to last me a lot longer as I am not consuming a liter a night of alcohol that way.

Not at all. Foresight, man!

@Magrus, I have the problem of having moderately decent taste. It really kicks me in the grocery bill, let alone liquor. I feel a little dirty with the gin I bought, even though it's only $2 less than premium, like Sapphire and Tanqueray. Mmm, Sapphire...

*shrugs* After the first stiff drink, I can't taste much of what I'm drinking anymore. Once I realized that, I stopped spending my money on good quality booze. I did at first, those first two months of drinking were wicked expensive. Then, I found my good friend Barton. He hooked me up. Really, when you compare $30 a liter, to $8 a liter, and they both get you the same level of drunk, and you put them down within a matter of hours, and you stop being able to taste the difference 1/3 of the way through the bottle...pragmatism kicks in.

My drunkenness is weird, in that I maintain a lot of my sense and sensibility. Holy cats I just used Jane Austen to describe my alcoholism.
