I just watched a program about Krakatau... The explosion were equalent to 200 megatons of TNT... While the biggest bomb ever made had an explosive power of around 50 megatons :speech:

The Hawaaian volcano?

If a 'super' volcano goes off, such as something in the Canary Islands that could cause massive tidal waves and climate change. Puts Krakatoa (sp?) in the shade.

A big volcano that exploded with such force that the whole mountain was blown to bits and pieces... This happened in 1883.

I would call it a super volcano when the shock waves traveled around the earth seven times...

It both made a 24 meters high tidal wave and changed the climate. The temprature dropped with a half Celsius...
