For some reason, I know it forwards, backwards and sideways and apparently my neighbour's son knows more about that country than the people living in it.

I know where Texas and California are and a few major cities, that's probably about it. I might know many of the state names but I couldn't begin to point them out on a map.

Well, I always thought of it being slap bang next to Lake Michigan being a clue...
Though I suppose more than one state borders that Lake.

It was still in Illinois when I was there. Detroit is in Michigan.

Ohios the nice boring state, second only to Iowa.

Rav, forget school. I got my geography out of cheesy films and it turns out to be right. Illinois, like the song says

Chicago is in Illinois, NEVER pornounce it Ill-uh-noise, you will get shot, repeatedly.

Ohio is not number two most boring state:
1. Wyoming (its actually a government lie, it doesnt exist, it has been annexed by Canada, and contains the worlds only doomsday device)
2. North Dakota, another Governemnt Lie
3. Iowa, Corn, nothing else
4. South Dakota, it is the only extant Dakota.
5. Ohio, funny name
6. Oregon, its name says it all, the ore is gone, no point in haing anytihng to do with it.
7. Nebraska, no one knows what it is.
8. Idaho... *snickers*

The Wyoming thing I have a theory on...The whole place is really just Yellowstone National Park but all the states around it were fighting over who claimed the park's touristry and government funding. The solution? Make the place its own state. Has anyone here ever met someone from there or seen a Wyoming license plate? I've been to U-fing-TAH and never seen/met anyone from there...

I saw a drama where the geysers and stuff where signs of a giant dormant volcano, the crater as large as the park itself. That exploded knocking the world into a Nuclear Winter.
