Horse urine is the one I can't figure out.
Thankfully..we were never "blessed" with that particular phenomena. I'm not sure if we were simply lucky or if it was the speed with which said diaper was changed
Er yeah.... makes the mind wander... unpleasantly so..

And speaking of urine... *Grines, and cares not about how urine actually tastes.* I must say that I am awfully unpatriotic about swedish beers. Guh... awful stuff. There is a couple of smaller breweries that make real good beer, but they remind me more of belgian or irish beers too, or sometimes tzeck beers (I REALLY don't know how to spell that, sorry, I mean the county that split from Slovakia). So in that respect I think that swedish beers at large are like american. Heh... Imagine.
Furthermore two of the best breweries are from 1) the town/small city Visby on the island of Gotland in the Baltic Sea and 2) the county Jämtland way up north in Sweden, and neither of them are really completely swedish (Jämtland in particular).
The bigger breweries... Well, lets just say I think I'd rather pierce my eardrums with a poorly sharpened pencil than drink the stuff. It's unethical, even inhumane, what they produce... :devil:

Fosters... bar none the worst swill ever made. Then there is Swedish "people's beer" like Pripps Blue, which is so awful they're writing songs about it. Any Yank "standard" beer like Coors, Miller and Bud are gross, and needs to be chilled with liquid nitrogen before you can drink it. The Brits have some of the worst lagers on the planet, like the numerous "extra strong" variants made to sedate the chavs, that actually tastes like they've added turpentine.
On the good side, there is Red Stripe fram Jamaica, which isn't a grand beer, but tastes wonderful on a hot day. Germany of course has the best beers in the world, even the "standard brands" like Hannen and Diebels taste way above anything you get anywhere else. I could write for a week about local brands in Germany, so I'll move on. Slovenian Zlatorog Lazko used to be the best pilsner in the world, until the changed the recipe and started exporting it. The original Budweiser is still one of the greatest beers around if you can get it. Over in Yankland Big Sky breweries make some fine ales, for those who really like to explore different kinds of taste.
Hmmm, I might come up with some more in time...

Wasn't Bud Bundy from Married With Children named after Al's favorite beer, Budweiser?
Just trying to trying to radically change the direction of the subject at hand.
Now, on SYM! American Sitcoms of the '90!

VonDondu wrote:Why do so many people know what urine tastes like? Am I missing something?
I think it's by reference only, ie
American Beer => Urine
therefore
Urine => American Beer.
Now, it could be argued that the function of taste does imply that the arrow goes both ways, although most would probably require more stringent proof. Personally, I'm inclined to think one is more salty than the other, but besides that, I cannot say ;-)
Guinness is _the_ beer. If I drink beer, which happens about once in every third or so blue moon, it would have to be Guinness. Imperial stout is an acceptable alternative in emergencies. As for the worst beer, I have managed to stay clear of the social events that force you to drink Coors, Bud or any such "beers", so all I have is prejudice and foregone conclusions - and I'm going to hold on to those! The worst beer I have had would probably be Fosters (any one of their varieties, just pick one). As moonbiter and prof. have pointed out, there are some local aberrations in the nordic countries _that you absolutely need to steer away from_, but they're still better than Fosters.

Beer tastes better when you're pissed off at something. And with fried chicken.

@Mar
I agree with the SMB (San Miguel Beer). When I was in Manila we drank a
lot of SMB. The cool thing was that the Pinoys always put ice in the beer; at first I thought this was strange, but after a while I tried it and it is great. The Philippines are so hot that beer gets warm quick. SMB with ice is a thin slice of heaven
! However...
... my all time best beer is Dogfish Head Raison D'etre. It is from Delaware and is getting to be pretty common here in New England. I first found out about it in Maryland. It is, simply, delicious. It is the best beer I've ever had. It is almost too much to drink more than two, especially because it is 8%. But it is so good!
Worst beer? Freaking Bud Light! That beer is terrible, and every redneck I know drinks it. They get drunk, tip over cows, and talk about NASCAR and hunting. That is 110% not my bag. Plus now it's a foreign beer so it's okay to dislike even more!

Over here they take the glass out of a very cold fridge before filling it up with San Miguel. Stays ice cold for a long time.

I think the Dutch Grolsh and Belgian Palm beers are really quite good. I also love Guinness, tho' that's a dry stout and thus not ordinarily classified under "best beer" categories.
Worst? I dunno, I personally really dislike Gulden Draak. Baltika produces some godawful beers, like the non-classical Arsenalnoe beers (the classic is pretty ok, but extra or zhivoye? Yuck),but others are fine.
I've heard some fantastically bad stories about the different types of American light beers. Will have to give 'em a try some day.

I've been told that I haven't tried a single dutch beer that's worth drinking before having tasted Hertog Jan (think I spelled it right).
Never got around to that one, though.

Oh, whoops, no idea why that one skipped off of my list. Hertog Jan and Grolsch are my main "regular" beers, whereas Palm and Guinness are more right-time right-place stuff.
I prefer Grolsch to Hertog Jan, but honestly yes, Hertog Jan is one of the best beers in the world, and quite likely the best Dutch beer.

I've stopped liking Grolsch ever since they had those fruit flavored beers, six or seven years ago. It tasted like beer watered down with 7up or something. And now I can't get a taste for Grolsh itself. The funny thing is, before that I remember drinking Grolsch Premium at the Arena cinemas in Amsterdam with my mates (when you could still bring that stuff in during the breaks / and when they still had breaks), and it was the best I ever had.
Speaking of that time, I just realized I haven't had a Murphy's Irish Red in years. We used to go to the Dan Murphy's at the Leidseplein all the time and get very sloshed while watching soccer games. That was quite a good beer too. I wonder if it's still up there with the other favorites.

I don't like beer that much, but Finnish "Karhu" is pretty much drincaple. Also in Germany I drank Beck and liked it pretty much, plus it was cheap.

I actually really like Hoegaarden (Belgian I think), but as far as worst beer, I am definitely not a fan of Molson Canadian. I guess I'm really really unpatriotic.....

For me it's Polish Tyskie, brewed 20 minutes from where I was born. If it's got to be dark beer, though, then it's got to be Murphy's.
