In 1976 I was just getting born to my loving hippy parents :) They weren't really into disco though, but I'm sure
I have a 'dancing queen' gene in here somewhere :) (Hmm...ooc..could be wrong about Abba, but I thought they were around the time of disco)

I managed less than a year of the 70s. I think this is why I feel no desire to wear ridiculous flares and I dress very well. :D :D :D :D

I do have a lava lamp though....

Lets see the 70's Ted Nugent, Kiss, Black Sabbath, AC/DC, Led Zepplin, Aerosmith. Lynard Skynard, and many more bands. My two tours in Nam. 67 and 68. I lost 2 uncles and two second cousins, in that filthy sh!t hole.

Darkpoet: Sorry sweetie *hug* My father got assinged to a desk job during that war, but he almost fled the country to escape it...

Drak: That song is reffering to a WOMAN dancing "She was the dancing queen, see that girl..." etc...therefore I used it as my dancing girl referrence. It's actually a cute song :)

Kid: I LOVE that song! *tries to remember the lyrics* Very passionate and mysterious, made me want to date a mexican desperado :)

Vivien, honey I've get you this present then :

FERNANDO

Can you hear the drums Fernando?
I remember long ago another starry night like this
In the firelight Fernando
You were humming to yourself and softly strumming your guitar
I could hear the distant drums
And sounds of bugle calls were coming from afar

They were closer now Fernando
Every hour every minute seemed to last eternally
I was so afraid Fernando
We were young and full of life and none of us prepared to die
And I'm not ashamed to say
The roar of guns and cannons almost made me cry

There was something in the air that night
The stars were bright, Fernando
They were shining there for you and me
For liberty, Fernando
Though I never thought that we could lose
There's no regret
If I had to do the same again
I would, my friend, Fernando

Now we're old and grey Fernando
And since many years I haven't seen a rifle in your hand
Can you hear the drums Fernando?
Do you still recall the frightful night we crossed the Rio Grande?
I can see it in your eyes
How proud you were to fight for freedom in this land

There was something in the air that night
The stars were bright, Fernando
They were shining there for you and me
For liberty, Fernando
Though I never thought that we could lose
There's no regret
If I had to do the same again
I would, my friend, Fernando

There was something in the air that night
The stars were bright, Fernando
They were shining there for you and me
For liberty, Fernando
Though I never thought that we could lose
There's no regret
If I had to do the same again
I would, my friend, Fernando
Yes, if I had to do the same again
I would, my friend, Fernando...
I'm not dead yet :D :p

LOL Viv and DP have something in common: Dancing Queen :p

My parents still have pictures of me dressed in wide collar shirts and velour sweaters :o Alas, but I was there for the '70's...
Then darkness took me, and I strayed out of thought and time

Hello to everyone I didn't say hi to earlier :) :D
I'm going to sit with DP in the Rock corner since I detest disco.

I admit to liking the gong show :( Gene Gene the dancin' machine...

@Lainy: no one 'likes' disco. It's something you suffer though the makes you appreciate the finer things in life. Now get out onto the lighted dance floor and dance to Funkie Town.
