I can't seem to get through to CNN's webpage. Can only imagine how many other people are doing the same thing.

This is the biggest peacetime tragedy surely...

One tower has indeed collapsed. The other is teetering and The Pentagon is on fire...

11 September 2001. A sad sad day. I will only hope that retaliation is carefully thought out or there will be no end. If this is the act of a country it is an act of war. Let us hope that this is not so...

A second explosion has happened at the Pentagon...

Eyewitnesses have seen people leaping from the twin towers... :(

25,000 people work in those towers, I hope so badly that they evacuated the majority...

Yshania, I wouldn't say that it was neccessarily the biggest peacetime tragedy (Chernobyl, great plague etc.) but it ranks pretty high up.
Just remember, everyone is entitled to my opinion

@Ysh don't you think you are jumping to conclusions about war?

Thanks Josh. My God!

The reporters have just asked an eyewitness if he thought it could have been an accident...

The death toll could be running into many 100s

2 towers, 2 explosions at the Pentagon and an explosion at Capital Hill...people are leaping from windows all over the place..

Sears Tower is being evacuated...

I have to dash to school - be back in a bit...

My sympathy goes out to all Americans around the world. This is a sad and tragic day in American History

A Norwegian newspaper reports that more than 1000 people are killed.

The planes were from United Airlines and is thought to be a 737 and a 767. These planes could be carrying more than 350 passengers

From what i heard there were 1000 injured not dead.

I echo those feelings, i think it is a sad day for the world, not just the US, there were 55'000 people in that building, my heart goes out to those families :(
