FOUR characters! ...Counting Drizzt.
@AC: I can´t believe you had any trouble with the rat quest, it took me less than 10 minutes.
But, let´s face it; The fighter IS the best class in DA. IMO, the sorceress suck big time, if you´re not playing multiplayer. No wonder you got killed, she´s got practically no defense at all!

Well, my partner was using the Fighter, so he was supposed to cover me while I attacked with spells and such, but he kept dieing, then I died, and so on and so forth... :D

There is ONE rat that I can't find anywhere. I even found a secret door somewhere, it that rat was not in there. I've spent a good half-hour looking for it, too. ;)
Maybe the kids arent so enthusiastic as I thought, then. :D Well their brains wont go down the toilet like mine did. I got a console in 2nd grade and its all been downhill since then. :D

Ah....so goes life in 2p version. When seraph (brother) went running in with his fighter and I stayed back with my archerer-sometimes that was the case, though a couple times, Ive actually killed seraph with some exploding arrows in the game....oops. :o :D

Hmmmm....you check behind boxes? In the water? errr......maybe theres a room you missed? I really couldnt say....

I´d restart if I were you, it seems almost impossible not being able to find them all, maybe it´s a bug.

Or maybe it´s the shapeshifting Kam-rat that is disgiuses itself as a crate? :p

It can't be. My partner and I found out that you could break open crates by attacking them, so we... Crashed every box, pot and crate in the cellar to get the loot. We had fun. :D

...And, I died when I smashed open one of those expolding boxes. :o

OK, while I have no quarrel with the game (I wouldn't know yet, however), I must say PS2 is NOT getting on my good side. The thing refused to operate, and it's got me to the point where I'm about ready to either
  1. Throw the whole thing out the window
  2. Break down, crying
  3. Ask my friends if they want to buy it from me
    [/list=a]

Whichever option seems most in-charactor for me at that time. ;)

Dang thing won't even start, so now I have no idea how the game is anymore. **Pissed**

Hmmm....you have a right to be angry. Wheres Mr. Flibble? Well if the PS2 was wise it would cooperate with you, AC. :D

But before you go off and throwing it out the window, try checking plugs, power, make sure things around it work. I couldnt tell you what else to do, but there will come a point were you might want to take it back to the store to get a new working PS2.

Some things to look for to see why it may not be working?

Did you check to see if the main power switch was on?
Is there a game inside?
Is the TV on?
Is it plugged in?
Do you even have a PS2?
Is there a window nearby which you can throw it through?
Is it your PS2?

Then go to the store and ask for help.

Ok, here is (first) revieuw of this game

I just bought the game today and have just played for an hour with the dwarfen fighter.
So i only did 2quest already (yes, i was able to kill te rats, no secret doors, just follow the cellar, and i've found them all)

First I did the tutorial, with was rather short (it would be nice if they explained how to use a healing potion, cause i hate manuals)

Then you got a selection of 3character, a dwarfen fighter, a human archer, or an elven sorceres.
To bad you couldnt create youre own character, but ok, i can live with that.

First I have to say, that the grafix are realy good, it's no finalfantasy X but still!!! Only water looks a little weird, they tried real hard to make it look realistic, but now it looks like (what's it called the stuff they put in thermometers) mercury?!

They gameplay is great, takes a little time to get used to, but when you have it down, it works grate.
I can only say this for fighting, cause i havent fired off any arrows, or cast any spells.

When you level up, you can choose a point in a skill (for example toughness, critical strike etc.) like in the third-e-rules, but not completely acurate, but that's no problem.

I have to say i'm getting realy in the BG-mood (same storytellers voice helps), and i'm gonna play some more now!!!

I will post some more here later.

If someone has any questions, feel free to ask!!!

[edit] Ps. I realy like te vibra-function there is in the controllers when youre health runs low, you feel sort of an hartbeat in the controler, that's realy well done!

Ok, I just finished chapter1.
And I found some things I dont like,
in the end of chapter1, it comes to skills, but o fighting skills, but jumping (yes, jumping), and evading turrets.
This is fun once or twice, but it goes on for quite some time, and it gets realy annoying.

2nd Is that you ahve to save at a safepoint, I realy mis the quicksave option like in BG for the PC, now sometimes you have to do a fight multiple times just to get to the next safepoint.

In chapter 2 the game gets better, less linear, and more area's to explore.
The stroy thusfar is a little bit dull, i could make that up in just 10 minutes, but still the game is great and realy addictive.

Later this week, I'm gonna try the MultiPlayer-option.

Anyone else who plays this game has any comment?

@AC, Is the PS2 working again?
What's wrong with it?
Wont load the CD, wont display on youre tv?
Wont start?
Do you get the opperating light (the little red/green one) burning?

So that causes a problem. So what the game does is have the 1 screen try to show both characters on the screen. If one person moves too far away from the other character, he runs in place until the person in the back catches up. This is hard to explain.....do you understand what Im saying? Regardless, this took some getting used to, but through communication, it all works out. Also, if one of the players dies, there is a place in every area where theres a "checkpoint" where you can save the game, or in multi player if someone dies, the player who still lives has to go back to the last checkpoint to see the killed player get ressurected. So its not exactly D&D rules, but its still fun. I think I had more fun multiplayer than 1 player because I so rarely get a chance to play such games in multiplayer.
This sounds like exactly the same control system/game mechanic as a game for the X-Box called Hunter: The Reckoning. Great game, pity it's almost all hack and slash, except for the "edges" which work like spells, just you don't get to use them hardly at all, and the teddy bear... :D ...well I won't spoil it for you. The dialog in cutscenes, unlike in many other games, is brilliant, so much so that we once played a particular scene repeatedly just to see the slightly different conversation threads in the cutscenes. Four people 'round the X-Box, four characters, and a load of fun. Anyone else played it?

PS2 is working, but I got sick of the game.

After trying the third set of jumping stones well over twenty times, I gave up. I started to figure out the pattern, but Adrianna just can't jump that fast, I guess. I put the game away, as well as PS2.

Are you not thinking of getting any more games?

For anyone who is wondering: I DO have the PS2, but I dont really recommend it. Try X-Box or something. If not, just stick with the PC. You get a lot more out of a PC then a console. Certainly there are fun games for the console, but it simply doesnt compare. So unless you got spare money that you dont really care about-which is practically an oxymoron, then just stick with the PC.

In the 3thr set (i think whe mean the same) there is no pattern,
if you jump in the top-right corner of the stone, the top-left stone dousn't fall.
Try some more, i did the same, and managed to do it in 1try as soon as i got the pattern.

not really. I may pick up Rayman, just for old time's sake, and a friend of mine recomended another game to me, as well. But for not, I'm still trying to catch up with my studies.

DA isn't as addicting as BG and BG2 were, which dissapointed me, too. I'm finding it quite easy to put the thing aside...

Argument

In rebuttle to tyb's comment.

Ps2 is a consle I stayed the hell away from forever, but was lured in by gta3. Which in its own is almost enough reason to own a ps2 and with Vice city coming out...

the again thiers the Ps2 Sleepers (in my own world since I dont keep up with Ps2 news all games that rock are sleepers)

The new gundam game is rad. Dynasty warriors 3 is addicting like heroin. Madden 2003 is just... well lets say I get half a stiffy when I play its amazing.

Albiet I spend half my day on my pc taking over europe on Medival: total war... I would recommend the Ps2 over xbox/amecube for right now based on price and range of games. remember the more people producing games hte more likely you are to get gems. Xbox has a couple, gamecube less... but ps2 is shock full of great games. I'd wait on the otehrs just like I waited on the ps2.

If I have to torture my fingers by working those controls one more time, I'm gonna flip.

The third set- after you fight the big huge spider, and it's a huge grid of stones... I just can't make it through. I may try if I have nothing better to do, but I doubt it...

Yeah....Ive basically put the Console aside aswell, because while I do spend a lot of time online, I am working and studying at the same time, usually. On the console I cannot do that. I could recommend more games if you like once you have the time, but as I see that would probably be for naught, I wont bother unless you ask me. :)

My conclusion is: that you are a true RPGer. You dont like the games that dont go in depth on the plot and you like to put yourself in the characters shoes, and when there isnt enough plot to really get emersed in the character, you get bored. Am I close to being right? :D I try to find the good in both worlds-the true RPGs and the hack and slash RPGs. I find there is a time and a place for both.

EDIT-@Thug Yes...the games are a factor that must be put into the equation. And waiting is good too, but if you wait too long, technology will catch up to the thing youve wanted to buy and it will be outdated....
