Find me a long sword that is +4 and above(in BG2).Btw,I'm from planet Earth

Attn dual-wielding fans: Minsc comes all prepared to dual-wield 2 maces proficiently. Spend one more point on 2-weapon style and voila! With Jerrod's mace and the mace of disruption he gets 4 attacks/round. Upgrade the mace (Cromwell) and the vampires are in serious trouble.

Though the longswords are pretty good, the Flail of Ages and Lilarcor are both available earlier and make it worth opting for something other than longsword for a fighter's proficiencies.

I've tried to diversify my party's proficiencies but there's too many cool weapons out there - i always end up selling amazing axes, halberds, spears....

I prefer hammers (Crom Faeyr), Flails (flail of ages) and two weapons proficiences - very convenient for every cleric (multi, dual, one class).

Aaah weapon profiencies. I would have to say long bows. Dont know why I prefer them over short bows but perhaps it has to do with elves. Elven Archer with elven court bow, stand aside evil. If I have to go meele i would equipt my archer with halberds.

i have no favorite - it depends on the class I'm playing

For fighters it is often longswords, flail, hammer, long bow, 2-handed swords, dualwield and 2 handed weapon.

For clerics it is flail, hammer, sling and dual wield.

Mages: staff and sling

Thief: singel weapon, kantana and longsword.

These are the clases I play most - if dualclassed - I combine the profencies

I like halberds and spears. When i played with my kensai-druid i had 5 stars in spear and 2 in 2h-weapon....really good!!!!!

I've only heard sword of Chaos mentioned once and I think it's one of the best weaposn in the GAME. Here's why:

It doesn't measure up to the +4/+5 two-handeds you get in chapters 4/5/6. HOWEVER, you

a) need to spend a sh*tload of money on them + kill tough ppl.
b) just plain old need to kill tough ppl
c) if the sword is REALLY good (doesn't have to be 2 handed, lets take equalizer for example) you have to find tiny parts of it over something like THREE CHAPTERS (correct me if i'm wrong) and THEN pay 5k gold.

The sword of chaos you get in the FIRST DUNGEON, w/ merely completign a quest that involves killing some memphits, and its hit point drainage is so impressive that, using it w/ Minsk, I ended up choosing this sword over the Duskblade +3 AND over soem other sword that drains HP (but only ten - sb remind me what this sword is?).

I realy longswords and katanas. my mage is wielding 2 longswords and haer dalis 2 katanas. for clerics i like the flail of the ages and defender of easthaven. I realy dislike the 2 handed wapens other than the staffs. why? with 2 longswords I will do a lot more damage as with one 2 handed sword.

Somebody correct me but dosent this sword only drain 1 hitpoint per hit?

i believe you are correct, the sword of chaos only drains 1 hp....

I love halberds and longbows....the heartseeker and the dragonsbreath halberd are awesome...

i kinda like axes, yeah they are not as good as some of the other weapons, but they are good enough, some +3's w/ fire acid & cold dm.

pls w/ azure edge, you get a returning missle weapon that's pretty good vs undead.

but for pure power, long sword is tough to beat...

Tis tru that it does, but how many swords drain 2?

Again, what's that short sword that drains like 10HP in course of combat?
