There was a bandit/thief dude there that talked to me, but I killed him. Is he the guy you're talking about?

@Sailor Saturn: That was probably him. Generally, if the options have something like "I want to join", then you want to take that option. You don't have to, but at least that way when you destroy the bandit camp, you do so at a time of your choosing, say, after you've entered Tazok's tent.

SPOILERS
Old topic, I know, but if you DO say that you want to join the bandits and get to talk to Tazok, calling him a sissy makes him attack you. If you can kill him before he leaves you get another pair of weapons specialization. (+1 THAC0, +2 Damage)
Tip: Use missile weapons
