I've heard of Grayface's patches, but I can't guarantee the downloads will work. A worst-case scenario is to use the actual 1.1 version of the .EXE itself, which only I have. This will revert the game to version 1.1, but at least it should eliminate the bug and hopefully also the request for media that people don't have.

P.S. - Did I mention that this year marks the 10th anniversary of the release of MM8?

A shame the rights holder have no interest in hiring van Caneghem for a new M&M title. But then, M&M IX was a failure, and--despite the fact that the NWC team had nothing to do with it, Gaming Industry Logic insists the fault lies squarely with the old team.

In any case, I wish van Caneghem would return to the single player games he did so well.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

Amen to that!

If you have trouble with GoG releasesit's a good idea to look at their forums. Most likely the problems will already be answered there, if not you can post a new thread there.

I checked around, and for the moment the site below has the Mok patches for MM6 thru MM8. I can't say how long it will be around for, so I'd grab the patches while you can.

Thanks again DaveO, I've take your advice and downloaded them all. I've downloaded and applied the combo patch that Fable linked to as well, working well so far. No longer do I have to sprain a finger running all the time!

Looks like Buck's not out of the mix yet. I'm crossing my fingers and hoping!
