Do a test. Install SCS2 on a 'clear' (only patched) BG2, exit Iren dungeon, cast a spell, then rest and cast another spell to spawn the Cowled Enforcers (or spawn them via CLUAConsole). If its smooth, instal the widescreen freely.
I haven't tested v11 of SCSII yet, but the earlier ones caused slow-downs during mage spawning (huge scripts used). However, my BG2 'machine' is weaker than the PC You owe, so you might even skip the above.
Edit : + I did not use the widescreen mod, i'm just cautious when it comes to combining SCSII with anything that enchances graphics

I think I've found the perfect class for me.
Core components
Open that. It's from the Rogue Rebalancing mod, which I will install somehow.
The bard kit? Jester. Totally fits my style! I'm thinking of a solo Jester. The song only effects enemies, not allies...ergo soloing does not suffer as badly.
What do you think? I don't see a huge amount of cheeze there.
The compatibility thing makes my head hurt, however:

I don't really care much about graphics, I thought BGII was fine as is. But should I look into this?
It just allows you to fit the interface to whatever native resolution your screen should have. It works pretty well, actually...playing the game in 1680x1050 is pretty fun.

Jesters are careless, foolish and given to whimsical decisions, yet they seem to possess some uncanny ability which allows them to survive in almost any situation.
Sounds good.
Some nice abilities there, but nothing that unbalances the game.

How come nobody told me about:
Infinity Engine Mod List & Installer
Good Lord, people have been hard at work while I slept.
It is essentially an auto-installer for MODS which catches conflicts. Go and see yourself. I'm still trying to understand.

Looks like this site isn't really up and running yet, but when it is, it will be pretty awesome.
