Haha, that's true, now I've gotten to the Undercity and it keeps crashing over and over. Anything I can do or am I stuck again?

That's too vague a description to tell. What are the system specs? Which KotOR version are you using (which patch?)? Is it on a specific point that it crashes?
You can try doing a clean re-install: uninstall the game, delete everything in the installation folder, and install it again. Savefiles should be safe to keep, though.

Well I don't know the exact specs as it isnt my comp, but it's an older Dell that's pretty small overall, it's running XP (not sure on service pack, but probably 1 or 2) 512MB of ram and 40g hardrive, not sure on graphics card but it seemed to be adequate up until then. In the Undercity, it has a lot of funny lines everywhere and you'll walk around and then it will crash, it's done it about 6 or so times with me trying a few different things such as making the graphics quality lower and turning the V-Sync on and off, my next thing is to try an earlier game save before the Undercity but I doubt that will help.

Oh and it's the Best of PC version, which I was told already has the latest patch (v. 1.03 or something like that) on it.

Ok, well I tried the earlier game save and that didn't work haha. It froze within the first line of the beggars talking. So you think a reintall might fix it? I just installed it yesterday so I'm not too sure how something could have went wrong in the install but I will use your judgment. Is it possible to keep my game saves and if so, how?

Getting computer games to run is far from cold hard science, it's more of an art. ;-)

Just do a normal uninstall. (Configuration -> Programs -> Uninstall.) Choose to keep the savegames. Afterwards, go to the gamefolder. (Something like: C:\Program Files\Lucarts\Knight of the Old Republic.) Locate the savegame folder, and copy it to the desktop. Then, go back to the gamefolder and delete everything there.
When you next install the game, choose a different folder, to be sure. If you installed everything, copy the savegames back to the new folder. Not sure if there's a "save" folder after a fresh install, but just make one if it isn't there, or quickly start a game, save once, and then there should be a save folder. Put the old saves in there.

Ok, where do I look for the game files... I've brought up the folder but all it has is a shortcut, configure, uninstall, and a troubleshooting guide.

Edit: Found it, moved the save games out now gonna uninstall

Ok, I uninstalled it and reinstalled and put the save games back in and still having the same issue. If I do it from my last game save it always freezes before I get to the guy at the gate

Have you deleted the folder after uninstallation and used a new folder? (i.e. C:\Lucasarts2\...) or something?

Nope... I just took the save game out and uninstalled it, reinstalled and put the saved games back in the save game folder.

Yeah, I know, thanks for the help though, I'm gonna go back and redo it the way you said in the first post.
