file read error wrote:Well... why would you absolutely want to play my mod if you ruin your game by using such methods? No matter how "hard" I make my enemies, against such bargain cheating they don't stand no chance in hell. And I cannot fix the exploit because I would do so right away if I could, so it's still there in my mod. :(
Alright. Let's try it your way. I'm growing a little bored with the game as it is. No bargaining skill. I'll try it without. Period. No advancement points to bargain. I'll see how that goes......................(I'm not saying how FAR I will take it! lol)
Well, now I have learned from my mistakes and shall prevail. Now, whenever I notice a squad of mush mans appearing below my feet, I switch to blast nova instantly and just say **** *** to them, eradicating all of them in a single shot.
I run and find a tall rock. I stand on it and ping 'em to death. Works for me. Yes, I get poisoned, but as you say, the poison *does* go away if you aren't a cleric and/or haven't either bought or collected a cure poison potion.

Now the bees are a different story..........pitas.

Yeah, try it out in my mod. You'll see for yourself which style you like better, all I can say is that I, personally, like the game without bargain exploiting much more. Cause it's not like it was enormously difficult to make money in the game, even without bargain. Just sell those Barbtongue Blades and Staves of Burning to Orlan Drey and your money will go up very quickly! :)

Of course I won't force you to play without bargain forever, it's up to you to decide. But now I'm gonna create the thread about my mod, so maybe we should continue talking about it in the new thread. ;)

Well, it is possible to kill mush men that way but it takes ages with a throwing knife! They block so often and even if they don't, the knives will often miss... and about bees, I can only think of two reasons why they put them in the game at all. Either they wanted to make targets for Blast Nova, or they just wanted to annoy the players. Walking backwards and chopping with a high-damage melee weapon and lots of speed can work on them as well, but if even one single bee hits me once I will almost always be poisoned instantly. :(

Hmm. I don't think getting to level 30 is ever necessary. You can win the game at lvl 10. Anyway best way to train was always the minotaur in skuldoon. You make more money than you lose as long as there is an occasional crusher mace.

That's what you get for procrastinating. :p

I dunno, I used both my bow and melee the first two times.. After that, I blast nova'd them all to heck. But I cheat--I rely heavily on that bargaining 'bug' as you call it. I don't go outta the house without a chitload of 'novas, now. I don't use them as often as I used to--I *finally* discovered that your advancement costs per skill goes DOWN as you USE your weapons.
Ah the old bargaining glitch. I realised it at the very end of the game. Now I have 6000 cataclysms. I don't think i can lose. I beat the last boss without using the relics at all as a melee character.

And as for the bees. I can't be hit. I have dual wield light with 282 speed and enough damage to kill them in 1 shot.

For the mushrooms buy a throwing dagger and kite them. First cast all shrieking stars, magic missiles, fire bursts, and fireballs. From a distance. Then kite with the dagger, I didn't even have any points in throwing. Run away. If you want and have the xp then take athletics to four and do back flips while shooting.

Another way is to run around the mushroom men and make them follow you always running at an angle to them. When you see a straggler mushroom away from the others run at him and hit him with your sword 2 or 3 times then run away and repeat the process. If you try to hit too much you'll get gased, poisoned, or petrified. Don't cure your poison wait until they are all dead or else you'll use too many poison potions. But poison potions are cheap anyhow. Sell some lockpicks to buy them.

For the bees hit the back button which makes your sword swing in the air. Keep backing and hitting. The studded leather might help or better yet chainmail. But its probably doable with potions and leather. I used an elven sword.
Right Speech has four aspects: 1. Not lying, but speaking the truth, 2. Avoiding rude and coarse words, but using gentle speech beneficial to the listener, 3. Not slandering, but promoting friendliness and unity, 4. Avoiding frivolous speech, but saying only what is appropriate and beneficial.

How to defeat the vampiress. I usually take her out at around level 8 or so doing the following. First i agree, the settings should be changed to less random encounters. secondly when she appears flying up high i take out my short bow and begin shooting as she moves about, slowly decending. The key skills to avoid her freezing you with her crypt dagger is to have a decent to high parry skill. I often times will use a scroll of blade of baal and charge her directly when she lands. after taking a certain amount of damage she will disappear in a cloud of smoke and reappear in a different area. It really helps to clear out the area of thieves before taking her on..there are 2 areas where thieves ALWAYS pop up when you first enter the area...after clearing those areas out the random pop ups can be a nuisance but clicking the hotkey for a health potion and then immediatly pausing will make you use the potion when you unpause, helping with the thieves hitting you after unpausing.
