For convenience, here is the excerpt.
Longshot; that is a brilliant way of beating him, I had not thought of GoI. So I must admit that you are a much better BGtactician than I. Which I already knew, I am more into the fun and RP, and get my tactical challenges from EB, WinSPMBT, WinSPWWII and RL.
Kuroisan, the acid kensai
This fight is a masterpiece, and is a perfect -tactical- encounter. With the right tools this fight is very easy, with the wrong ones, you die. Lets get it started shall we?
Kuroisan is a fighter mage who visites you when you have Celestial Fury. Much better fighter then mage i might add, but the most important information here is.. He plays defensive. Attacks only when his defense is up to the task. He has few great items like Robe of Vecna, ring of gaxx and belt of infernal barrier, sadly those are undroppable, and a godly katana which gives him immunity to acid, lowers acid resistance on hit, adds acid damage on hit.. and shots a melf's acid arrow on every target that performs a hostile action towards Kuroisan. Always. He starts the fight with many protections and recasts them while fighting.. This here is important - recasts them! - He focuses on recasting his buffs instead of attacking.
Easiest way to deal with Kuroisan is to breach away his protections (ew. ruby ray spell protections, in case he casts any), unleash physical hell, breach them again and kill him. Protection from magical weapons stops his acid katana fully, acid protection spells or scrolls deal with the backlashes, and Globe of Invulnerability stops them completely (the backlashes are counted as Melf Acid Arrow, lvl 2 spell)
Mage protected with GoI (maybe even a minor one) and pfmw is absolutely immune to everything Kuroisan can do. If you dont want to risk anyones lives, tank him with mage protected with those 2 (and preferably Spell Shield to stop his Breach spell, if you play everything well he wont be able to cast more then one.) and kill him with ranged weapons with characters fully protected from acid. Going into melee with him might cause him to switch targets.
Voila!
P.S. It -is- possible that Kuroisan focuses on the character with the blade he wants to obtain, i haven't confirmed it yet.

I'm just about to absolutely go ape s***.
I don't have ruby reversal ray, my beserker/mage is lvl 12, kensai/thief is lvl 8, and my archer is lvl 7 or 8.
I haven't done much at all, I just have the celestial fury on my beserker, and that tuigan's short bow, the bow you get from the beast master.
I've cast protection from magic weapons, minor glove of invulnerability, protection from acid, stoneskin, mirror image, blur, haste, and fireshield blue.
Do you guys think I'm actually going to beat him?
I'm really lost at the moment... I've been trying for 2 hours, and I want to beat him without cheating... It just doesn't feel like I deserve the katana if I kill him while cheating.
I'm still trying. But seriously, any help would be good.
Edit: Protection against magic weapons runs out so god damn quick. =.=

You do not really need the RR to beat him, I never used it. But I too always found it a difficult fight. Longshot's advice is sound though and should make it easier. You could try the simple expedient of Grease and/or Web then shooting him to bits. Enfeeble might help in melee...
You could also find some NPCs to "hire on" just to kill him.
BTW, how did you get CF in the first place? The Guarded Compound is no walk in the park in Tactics.

I've cast protection from magic weapons, minor glove of invulnerability, protection from acid, stoneskin, mirror image, blur, haste, and fireshield blue.
His katanas acid damage goes through Mirror images and stoneskins, and fireshield does laughtable damage.
Yes, you can beat him. Have as many PFMW as you can, and equip everyone else with ranged weapons, even if its just a rock. Have as many protect from acid scrolls as possible, this is the key.
My advice sounds tough, because i wrote the guide for insane difficulty
Secret word can easily replace the ruby ray, and you should cast one ONLY if he has spell turning and alike spell that will stop breach.
You absolutely need breach for this guy. No breach - no dice.
Berserker/Mage 12? How high level is the berserker? I'll try it myself.
Edit : To Edar :
Tactics does not fix the guardians HORRIBLE pathfinding, which allows you to wipe them out with a naked bunch of 7 lvl characters.
Edit 2 : You can tank him only as long, as you can keep up the PFMW spells. Once the last one runs out, you need to kite him - As Edar mentioned in his post above me. I must confess that i did not try Kuroisan with a bunch of lvl 7 chars.
You also can easily win the fight with
emotion spell... He just needs to fail his save
Doom or Greater Malision will help out. If you do not have emotion, try out the level one spook spell.
Edit 3 : Tip : Pfmw lasts 4 rounds, which is 24 seconds. After casting a spell you cannot cast another one for 6 seconds (until you get to super high levels
) this means that every 4th spell has to be pfmw
If you have spell revisions by any chance, then pfmw lasts only 3 rounds (18 seconds) BUT with spell revisions grease will let you win this fight easily!
Edit 4 : Get Keldorn, Viconia, Anomen, Aerie, Edwin... simply anyone who can cast dispel magic / breach

Well, I kind of got the cf before I installed the tactics mod.
But uh...
Yeah.
And you're right. Fireshield beats the crap out of me. >.<
I'm just outside the copper coronet...
Been 3 hours...
Trying to beat this turd.
I'll keep trying.
Lvl 8 beserker btw.

Do try everything that we posted, and keep us informed good sir
In worst case scenario, reload a previous save and come back to face Kuroisan a tiny bit later.

Well its 11:13 PM, but I'm gonna beat him tonight.
Web and grease are useless, they don't affect him at all.
Actually, I take that back, I forgot I had pierce magic. Should work pretty good actually.

He may have freedom of movement spell active, which means - once again - breach and dispell the bastard!
Try emotion, spook. Powered with doom and greater malision. Do not give up, he will fail a save (and since your party are all utterly low levels.. he has to fail a save)
Edit : Go pierce magic!

Is there not also somewhere you can buy arrows of dispelling as well?
Another low lvl spell that might help is Chromatic Orb, has a chance to stun him (unless he is protected from stun- is he?).

I don't have doom, but I have greater malison and emotion. Ah, I really do hope this works. I'm getting impatient.

Emotion + Malision will work, just keep trying, and remember to dispell his protections first.
In fact, you WILL succesfully use emotion against tougher enemies than Kuroisan
Edit : As long as you have GoI (or lesser GoI) stinking cloud is a killer too.

Well, no luck yet... But I see how Emoticon will work. I'll keep trying that.
I will get him.
And I'm gonna go to sleep now. School tomorrow.
And by the way, is there a chance that the Sanchuudoku wont drop from Kuroisan?

If you haven't killed him alrdy - just use someone to kite him in a circle using boots of speed + haste or potion(s) of speed and keep the rest of your party back. Eventually he will run out of spells (keeps recasting them untill none are left and you can speed that if you keep dispelling them) and you can overwhelm him easily with the rest of the party. Last time took around 5 mins because when he spawned he kept recasting his spells and running around until i attacked.

Oh my god.
I did it. I beat that son of a b*tch.
How I beat him:
I made him waste all his spells by making him run after me. When he stopped to cast a spell, I used breach to get rid of his Stoneskin, and let him recast it, since he will eventually have to run out of Stoneskins, and ran off again, giving me a bit of a head start to run away from him. When he recast Stoneskin, I breached again, of course. Since I was in the Copper Coronet, the little fences gave me time when I got a head start to run off to get Acid Protection and PFMW on. After I got them on, I ran away and used Pierce Magic, did the same but casted Greater Malison, and kept using PFMW and attacked him while my archer pelted arrows at him. I almost died, but lucky my other character had a few potions on him.
And with that, I killed him.
I thank all of you for helping me. I plan to kick some ass with the sword I'm about to receive, (since I posted this as soon as I killed him).

Oh, and I'm wondering... Should I give the Sanchuudoku to my Beserker/Mage or my Kensai/Thief?
I've got the Short Sword of Backstabbing, which is pretty good, seeing as it gives +1x more to Backstabbing...
Since the Sanchuudoku is so epic, I thought maybe the Sanchuudoku in the Main Hand and Crom Faeyr in the Off Hand would be awesome as? 25 strength... 14 attack on the katana...

You should use it on whoever is skilled with katanas, and whoever is the main Tank since it regenerates and causes acid damage to opponents (none of them has read Longshot's suggestion to use GoI). My favorite Kensai/Mage/Thief uses Celestial Fury (upgraded by Cromwell ASAP) and Sancho with Flail of Ages and Crom Faeryr either on another Tank or as backup for those enemies those two blades cannot deal with. CelFu's stun effect is very useful too and at +5 it is a fine weapon.
Katanas are somewhat underrepresented though. I had planned to make some for myself, but the program does not work.

Good point... I guess you'd switch to the Celestial Fury to stun, then Sanchuudoku just to finish them off.
Crom Faeyr on my Thief, but what else? Should I maybe give him the CF with it?
And upgrade CF? :speech:
Edit: Oh my bad... >.< Read it wrong.
To me it would make more sense to equip the tank with Sanchuudoku and Flail of Ages, since Flail of Ages slows down the enemy, which is a pretty good substitute for the Celestial Fury. It also does quite a lot of damage, with the Ice, Fire and Acid damage. And when it's upgraded... Oh my god.
Celestial Fury and Crom Faeyr in my opinion would be pretty freaking good for the thief. Backstab with the Celestial Fury, and there could be a chance that the enemy could get stunned. That would help if the backstab didn't kill him one shot.
But maybe the Shortsword of Backstabbing combined with Crom Faeyr Would be good too. x8 damage, (ShadowKeeper Kensai/Assassin), and switch to Celestial Fury to finish them off.
I dunno, think it would be good to experiment with it.

I am not the resident expert on weapons, I just know what I like. I dual-wield CF and Sancho on Tank, but switch to the others if I face a Golem or some protected against wepons but not against elemental damage.
Beware that you cannot Backstab with anything but a blade. Thus some Backstabs with Crom or FoA will fail. I know this from experience, and it matters not what had you wield it with. hence also the Katanas on my K/M/T, buff, sneak up, Backstab with 100+ damage and chance of stun, finish off. Rinse-wash-repeat.
When you get HLAs there is one to substitute the stun effect, but I still quite like it, and like a blade for backstabbing.
Give Minsc Axe of the unyielding when you get it in ToB (chance of lobbing off head) and Crom, another Tank FoA and one more weapon to dual Defender of Easthaven is pretty nifty in that role. Your lost brother returning The Silver Blade and various other nasty THS, and Ravager.
Add a Sorcerer and a Cleric and nothing can withstand you.

About the FoA, I'm not gonna backstab with that... I think I might not have put that sentence together right...
Well, what would do more damage...
Main Hand: CF
Off Hand: Crom Faeyr
Or...
Main Hand: CF
Off Hand: Shortsword of Backstabbing (Remember it increases attack multiplier by 1).
My attack multiplier is 7x.
Also, I'm curious... How much attack does 18 strength do compared to 19 strength? Not sure if I explained that well... Just say I attack someone with 18 strength. If I had 19 strength, same weapons, blah blah, would I do noticeably more damage?
