I heard somewhere that charming an character to remove an enermies charm can cause problems perhaps thats what happened

@Sheriff- I have done that (and fairly recently, I believe)... Do you remember if there was a fix for this error? (Perhaps the patch fixes this? I haven't downloaded it yet... Is this something I should try?)

I believe the patch does fix it

Thanks, I'll give it a shot. I've procrastinated too long on downloading it anyway. Will installing the patch alter my saved games in any way?

I have no idea, download it and try it out what's the worst that could happen.

D'oh!!!
I should have installed the patch in the first place! Thanks for that suggestion Sheriff, my character can now interact normally! (Well, as close to normal as he gets)
