@Xyx, do you believe that *all* the contingency spells are worth a slot for a sorc?
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

@Craig, I can certainly see the last two. I just don't know about spending a slot on Contingency. I'd sooner get Death Spell, Globe of Invulnerability, Invisible Stalker, Chain Lightning, Mislead and Spell Deflection.

I just recently finished ToB the first time, my standard strategy was to start a tough fight by having Keldorn cast dispel magic at enemies. I think Inquisitors cast Dispel Magic (and True Sight) as if they were mages of their paladin level. As paladins gain levels much faster than mages AND have at least 5-7 Dispel Magics a day, Keldorn definitely rules. I gave him a Girdle of Fire Giant strength, if he uses Greater Whirlwind attack, he'll whack 10 times a round with the Carsomyr +6. </STRONG>
Inquisitors cast dispel magic as a mage of double their level which is what make Keldorn particuarly useful at taking down spell protections.

If you haven't an inquisitor in your party priest make better use of the dispel magic spell as they have a nicer experience table then Mages
Just remember, everyone is entitled to my opinion

Tested personally, although I didn't try it 20 times or so. ;)

Sure. Not the most vital spells for daily survival, but they add something that other spells cannot replace when you need it the most; extra firepower.

If you feel you need those slots (big battle or something), just set your contingencies, re-fill those slots and rest again.

Contingency: any type of Invis when helpless is a life saver.

I'm curious why you don't use PI. Not only does it save a character in your party from death, but it's a great way to draw attention away from your real party members. I've used it to pull dragons away from chasing Keldorn, for example.
