Too real time strategy like :p

If, on the other hand, you decided to remain a mortal, you could deal with having a mid-life crisis, raising a family (If you did the Aerie romance), and paying off the mortgage on your house :D .</STRONG>

Of course you're right Fable, but we HAVE
bought BG2 after all.
So a poll may show that a lot of people are more interested in a BG3 that, say, in NWN.
True for me, at least!

Hmm thats a good point.

Does anyone really want to be level 40 running around killing stuff?

Kinda too easy.. I think there's more fun to be had going from 1 to say, 30, then just romping at 40+.

It could always be a story 100 years later, when you find out that there was some trouble with the gods, maybe some kind of war or dispute who knows they're the writers not me,and you were put down, only to finally be regaining your strength (and thus having a level 10 avatar) due to some event. As you leveled up you'd get more powers and in the end you'd have two paths..either you reclaim your god-throne, or you live on as a mortal and slay dragons!

As the game progressed, there would be reference of past characters, cameo's, surviving characters, if they were really smart, they'd make it so the storyline was different depending on the romance you chose in bg2. If you didn't choose one, you'd have to pick one in character selection.

Race
Gender
Chick you boinked in BG2
Abilities
Appearance
etc.

The possibilities are pretty endless with a good imagination and the good writing at BioWare.

To Interplay, NWN held the hope of BG2 success *plus* grabbing the action crowd who love 3D graphics. At least, that's the way an Interplay rep once described it to me. And as he put it to me, there was nowhere else to take the BG2 story after ToB. The characters were too maxxed out on spells, items, weapons and skills. Battles lacked all strategic finesse.

Not to say I don't share your desire--I just know the story had come to an end, and I'm grateful for what we got. My chief concern is that Interplay's poor showings (combined with PoR II and Arcanum, neither of which has done very well) will make the bean counters start screaming that CRPGs Don't Sell, and we'll be back where we were half a decade ago, despite BG2 and Wizardry 8.

Really, NWN and the new Bioware/LucasArts Star Wars CRPG are the best hope for CRPG fans at this moment.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.
