There were compatibility problems with most Baldurdash fixes. They did use Kevin Dorner's fix for the Jaheira Romance. They even credit him in the Patch Read Me.

Bear in mind though, that patch was half done by Manveru as well...

Nahh.. most of the fixes are relatively minor stuff (which is not to say that making them was not a monumental task). Read through the fix list and you'll see that 95% of the fixes deal with small alterations to items, scripts, spells and dialogue that has nothing to do with ToB or the main plot whatsoever.

About the Baldurdash fixes, I'm currently running BG2 with them and have not encountered any problems with ToB. I did a full install of SoA, install official patch, install Baldurdash's fixes, then install full ToB and install ToB official patch. So far I've not encountered any problems with the game yet; although I'm still not 100% sure that there isn't any problems.

Sabre, keep us informed. I personally have had much success with balderdash full fix kit, and the only problem I encountered was the jashiera dialog loop, for which I added the bcs files from manveru and this fixed that. I think the timing I went into the underdark causes this.

But to get balderdashed SOA with TOB would be a dream!!!

Hooray for Sabre!!!
He's risking a crash and playing the soa game just to test out balderdash for us!!!

Which version, full fix kit or in pieces?

And what point are you at? Have you reached the trials yet and moved into tob ???

I installed the full fix, version 3.6. I haven't had much time to play the game yet; just got BG1 + TotSC, so I was planning to play through the whole series, but still can't decide on what class to play. I'll start SoA now - since I've finally got some spare time - and I'll keep you inform if I find any problems. Obviously I won't be able to cover every possible scenarios in the game, so there might be problems that I didn't encounter while playing.

Edit - Oh, forgot to mention that I have all of the improvements from Baldurdash installed as well - Bhaal powers, tougher bosses, etc. I guess I'll be 'cheating' through the game this time.

I shall be doing this as well, and since you sound very busy with tales, I will also post any problems and report any glitches. I'm sure a lot of people, who love the balderdash fixes will be interested.

Since I'm doing my fifth run-through, beginning with SoA, I've also decided to install the official patch, followed by the Baldurdash bugfixes. Later, I'll add on ToB and that official patch, but leave Kevin's fixes in place, and report back.

I'm just curious how the others who have loaded SOA, the SOA patch, Kevin's SOA patch, ToB, and the ToB patch are managing. I've not encountered any problems yet, but then I haven't had much playing time.

By the way, has anybody noticed whether putting ToB and its patch on top of Kevin's SoA bugpatch actually "unfixes" some of Kevin's bugfixes?

I haven't tried this, but think with the order of installations/patching suggested by Sabre, some "undoing" of Kevin's fixes would be inevitable, and may be the reason that there seems to be no conflict between the Baldurdash fixes and the ToB installation/patch.

Still, better to get some of the fixes than none at all, and Sabre's suggested order seems to be a good one to ensure that there are no conflicts.

Fable, I've created a thread called Playing ToB with Baldurdash Bugfix, so that people can post their progress.

I know about the overriding thing with ToB, there are 57 files that are replaced when you installed ToB over the bugfix - I have a list of them if you want. I have checked through some of the files and most of them are the same as the bugfix - meaning that BioWare actually did include stuff from Baldurdash - however, some are not. I will be going through each of them and check the differences - but I first got to make sure that the other fixes doesn't cause any major problems with the game.

Edit - Actually, make that 59 files, with the latest ToB patch

Just because the official patch files and the Baldurdash files replace the same originals, doesn't mean Bioware used Kevin's fixes. They would have credited him, otherwise (they did for one small fix in the readme). Chances are, they simply went for many of the same problems that Kevin noticed, and we all commented upon.

In any case, thanks for staying with this. I'm sure we'll all be interested in charting your progress. :)

I can tell you that kevin's fix for m swords, making them virtually impossile to charm and dominate or stun or hodl them got overridden by tob.

Installed bg2, balderdash and tob plus full patch. since I've played with balderdash patches before I know that swords never got stunned or charmed or dominated. However After tob install, i had some swords stunned.

Sigh. they overwrote that attribute.

What happens if you back up those files and re-install that particular fix?
