Your test, give a fighter the FoA and crom faeyr combo and monk would never win, not with or without special attacks.

A barbarians rage shouldnt give imprisonment immunity, then its a bug. But a barbarian can get more or less immunte to physical damage , with the right abilities and equipment, so armour class wont matter that much.

U can`t compare characters by making them fight one another...a barbarian is the best tank, agreed, but in a fight with a Monk, the monk`s MR (for instance) won`t be relevant, but what about when u fight mages?
In 1 on 1 combat the archer, for instance, would nearly always loose. Is he crap then? NO WAY! A character isn`t better just because he beats another in HtH, just wanted to clarify that...

I beat SoA with a my half elf warrior and beat Ill-Khan with him too, he did a afir amout of damage. Then i played ToA again with a human monk and i love it. He can dish out alot more damage, he doesnt have the hitpoints of my warrior but he dodges alot of the hits and i have him the ability "hardiness" which helps.

the baldur's gate series doesn't use the third edition of rules. It uses the second edition of rules. Anyone out there know much about third edition rules.

Well, what exactly do you want to know about 3E ? There's no "berserker" per se in 3E. Or kensai. Or swashbuckler. Or Blade. But you can customize the base classes so much, the distinctions get blurred.

Anyways, the Barbarian gets cool abilities. His rage eventually gets upgraded. At lvl 20 (max lvl) he's not winded after rage. At lvl 16 or 15, I forget, the bonuses are +6 to str and con, and +3 to will saves. Not too much different from Baldur's Gate.

The fighter gets a whole lot of cool abilities. But theoretically, any other class can get them too. But not in the amount that the fighter gets.

Also, whirlwind is alot weaker in 3e. What it is, is that you deal one attack at your full bonus to everything within melee range. (Melee weapons only) However, if by the time you get it, you need the full attack bonus against everything surrounding you, you're basically dead already.

Hah!!!! What you need is a Ranger!! As an elf and some high dexterity you get a vvvv low AC and you can use draw upon holy might etc to beef up your THACO and stuff, and of course any decent belt gets you huge strength, priest spells equal healing and other stuff, how can you resist??

One thing though. A monk with Gauntlets of Crushing is bad ass and increases his already impressive fistdamage to a maximum of a whopping +8(No...Absolute Immunity wont save you now). Add smite or Greater Whirldwind to that and the monk can actually smack a kensai into the ground easily(and punch a berserker into smithereens).

Umm, I think not. Your thinking of christian monks and so on.

In forgotten realms they do have a goddess of love and pleasure(the Goddess Sune, I may point out for the unannointed).

Monks arn't really into celibacy here(for reference, take the Clerical Quintet by RA.Salvatore).
