So for all you screenwriters out there, throw away that antiquated word processor and get yourself Never Winter Nights! Instead of making someone "read" your movies, they can play them!
May you walk on warrrrm sannd....

I'm planning for a Neverwinter Nights Arena module... Where you can enter and fight your favorite monster (by asking some sort of referee to summon the monster in question) or just fight PvP in a controlled fashion. Could be fun. I plan on adding a couple of basic weapon/armor shops around the arena just for fun.

The actual look of the arena is depending on what's possible with the editors... In worst case, it won't be an "open" arena but more like a large room. But you will have audience... :)

Requires quite some scripting, but I'm a pretty proficient Java/C/C++ programmer so I'm hoping I'll make a nice little module.

Multi-computer

I plan on DM'ing and scripting modules for NWN from a lot of PnP AD&D adventures I still have written down in notebooks. However I was wondering if anyone knows what is going to be required to play the game or host the game. For example, you buy the game, it gives you a cd, can you install it on two machines in your house. Making one the server, and the other a client to login and test the modules created? Or will this all be able to be done from one computer? Also if any servers are looking for an extra DM or scripter let me know, I could create my own world (which i will probably do on the side to test a lot of my scripting), but playing with more people is so much more fun :D

I would imagine that one cd gives you acces to one installation.
But seeing as there is so many tools avaiable in NwN it will proberly have some sort of way of playtesting modules you've created.

As for hosting bioware have stated that even a smaller internet connection (K56) would be able to host games of up to 8 players.
Of couser this is extremely sketchy information and we are problerly looking at something more like ISDN+.

If you ever look for somebody to playtest your modules I'm sure people in here will be more than willing, and some would proberly host modules for others aswell. :) (right guys!! :p :D )

In one of the BioWare videos, they show you how they build a dungeon in five minutes, then enter it. All from the same machine.

Xandax,

i am not very good at scripting, in fact I have never done it before . Maybe you could explain the basics of it to me and I would be happy to help you with the DM-ing. I am a very expierenced P&P-DM, so we could make a great team.

Please tell me what you think about this.

BTW I have just submitted my PC (gnome, mage) to join Blades of the Banshee. I am really looking forward to my membership.

Well basically scripting is simply to define what events will take place at what times under what conditions.
It will not be needed to be into programming or scripting in advance - there will be plenty of ways to learn scripting.
Of course I belive there will be certain advantages to know programming in advance, but that goes into the structure of a script and not as much the script itself.

(BTW - hope to update the website tomorrow)
