Well since nobody else seems to want to answer the question, I guess I will. First off the repeater rifle uses two bullets every time you fire it, adding up to 6 bullets a round while the repeater rifle only uses 1 bullet a shot. Secondly the looking glass rifle has a much longer range allowing you to take out enemies from a safe distance. If you don't care about how many bullets you use try getting the automated rifle (i think thats what its called) it fires 8 times a round and uses 6 bullets a pop for a whopping 48 bullets a round.

*gulp*
48 bullets a round! My money will run out just for buying salpenters and charcoal, to make more bullets!

48 bullets = 60-70 gold (from saltpeters) a round. lets say that every encounter takes an average of 2 rounds to finish. After a single cave (20 encounters) you would be at 2600 gold spent on just ammo. Ouch...

As for repeater vs. looking glass rifles, I suggest waiting for the elephant gun. It will blow both away at 2 bullets a round. You can fire it 2 or 3 times a round.

Is the elephant gun better than the pyro-gun?
The pyro gun makes same damage as looking glass + 5-20 Fire damage and it has speed of 10. How much damage does the elephant gun make?
It was quite difficult to make it (first i needed marksmen rifle + looking glass, then a gun chassis to make a long range pistol, and then finally magnesium to make it a pyro gun), it would be a waste if the elephant gun is bettter :( .
