My new stats:
Str:13
Dex:17
Con:10
Int:14
Wis:8
Chr:10
For those of you who are wondering why my intelligence is so high because I would like a lot of skills. A rogue with my int bonus gets 40 skill points at level one.

I've given you 11 points in Intelligence, otherwise you'd get up to 29 points.

Xan,
Could you please update my char?
Str 18
dex 14
Con 16
Int 8
Wis 8
Cha 6
I have a question of 3e rules, does 18 str give percentiles? Or, given the fact we had the additional points, does anyone have any other suggestions. I can only boost dex or con up 1, and then have 1 point left for int, wis, and cha. As a viciously scarred dwarf, with some serious psychological problems, I'm not too interested in cha.
Any other suggestions?

Well I'll get your character updated as soon as I have time again.
As for your question - there is no percentile strenght, it is 18 -> 19.
As for the second question, I don't follow you.
Are the "extra points" you mention, the 28 points of Argyle, because if that is the case, your character already uses all 28 points, or are they the extra points you get every 4th level?

Sorry,
"extra points" is from 25 to 28. I originally had a 17 str, and by moving to 18, I use up the 3 additional.
My question is: where is the greater advantage, 17 to 18 str, 14 to 15 dex, or 16 to 17 con.
From 2nd Edition, I like the extra to hit/dmg points with moving from 17 to 18.
I am still unfamiliar with 3e, and was looking for opinions

Well the imidiate advanteage of going to 18 strenght is that you get the extra +1 bonus.
You get bonus' on even numbers ei:
a +1 bonus on 12, +2 if you have 14, +3 if you have 16 etc., so keeping stats on even are an advantage.
But you also need to remember that at every 4.th level you get an additional statpoint, wich you can use to increase your stat by one, no matter if you go from 17-18 or 10-11.
Therefore I would proberly have used the 3 points, not going to 18 in strenght, but on something different (like intelligence or wisdom) because at level 4 you could go to 18 strenght, but only to 9 in intelligence.
So my choice would have been (remember, this is what I would have done) I'd kept strenght at 17 and beefed up either intelligence or wisdom to 10 and the other to 9. Then useing the 5 extra stat points on reaching 20 strenght and 18 consitution. (or maybe the other way around - 18 str. and 20 con)
Others would do differently, it is a matter of playing style and oppinion

Good points. I need to go get the 3e books and read up a little more.
Thanks - Why don't you hold up on changing the stats
