@ Phantom Lord: I don't think so. Oracle is 5th level spell and by that time he had reached a level where he was able to cast one spell of this level.I've also noticed that when my necromancer's intelligence is raised to 20, his chance of learning a spell goes just to 95 (!!) Therefore he has a chance of 5% failure.
I haven't understand, though, how is determined the percentage of chance for learning a spell. Is it affected by the level of the character or what? My f/m/t and my c/m, for example, both have intelligence 17, but the first has chance of learning a spell 85 and the latter 75. The only difference between them is their levels.
@ Curdis: When I had unistalled the game, I had also run "regedit" to ensure that any relative file and/or program would be deleted as well. I had only keep the "save" and "characters" folders which had been temporarily copied to my second hard disk. I don't know if there was something else I should had done...
As for the damage taken with no reason, I finally figured out there was reason, and that was what Lykwid pointed it out (though shooting in the dark
): the end of Spirit Armor spell!
