Thanks all, and special thanks to Sylvanerian. I have searched through most of UserUnfriendly's spell tips, and as stated before, perused xyx's spells guide. Im just trying to create a spell caster that can direct the battle so to speak, im finding that im mainly using 4 spells however, Melf's Meteors, Skull Trap, Contingency and Stoneskin. The rest aren't as special.

Im going to try a Fighter/Mage in the future. My only wish is that you could make a Archer/Mage ( now that would kick).

The fighter/mage is a very powerful character - especially in a party with only a few NCPs or soloing.
Just ask, and i'll give you some tips if you can't find any to satisfy your needs in previous posts.
Oh, and although you can't have an archer/mage - as in the kit archer, you can let your fighter/mage use a bow to good effect also. Yet, dual wielding is much more powerful in my experience.

Haste adds one attack, and affects the whole group. Also, you might get fatigued after.

Imp. Haste doubles the attacks, is for one person, and doesn't get fatigued.

With ToB, try Improved Haste with Critical strike. :D

My picks for level 6 spells:
Death Spell (kills anything below level 8, like Umbar Hulks)
True Sight (cause you gotta have it)
Prot. Magical Weapons
Mislead (solo mind-flayers!)
Priece Magic OR Chain Lightning

Death spell is terrific.

There are entire areas that can be practically cleared by simple use of death spell, even in ToB.

Well after reading a few posts on the front page here, i've decided to have an elven Fighter/Mage go Solo. Mirror Image and Spell Deflection are easy to get through anything... and i just caste haste on myself, i've now go the Tuigan Bow, and mow down anything before it hits me. Its always good to wake them up with a skull trap too....

Don't forget Resist Fear. Reasonably cheap and lasts for ages. Keep one up at all times. Will save your @$$ many times.

dump improved haste, at least two items in game willgive you uninterruptable imp haste,

ring of gaxx
bracers of blinding strike..

a fighter mage multi will get good ac as you go up in levle, right? so you really dont need bracers ac3 very much, I prefer bracers of blinding strike or weapons enhancers...

prot from magic weps is a killer spell to put into contingency or chain, you should gith most battles with some spell triggers and cahin contingency set up with killer spells and rush among the enmey and have your spells go off while amidst the foe, like triple abu dazims while whacking the most power ful mage with staff of magi.

dump prot from magical energy, with prot from energy and I think spirit armor, you get over 100% damage from magic with belf of inertial barrior...

mislead and boots of haste and greater whirlwind seems to do for me better than prot from magic weps, which I NEVER use...

your kensai mage should be a juggernaught of destruciton, using magic to enhance battle skills, so you should have a lot of destructo spells and spell triggers and sequnecers...

but a sorc only needs chain contingency and spell triggers!!! you already have thetwo best, dont settle for the lesser spells, cast them from scrolls for a major fihgt only...
