Weasel: Get your camera out of my room! Trust me, you DON'T want to see what T'lainy and I do in there...Hey btw, I know that this question has been asked a bunch of times, but I don't see where. I want to put an avatar up there but the picture I want to use (upload from my computer) says it is too big. How do I re-size? Can I use Paint? Or just as picture in Word?

Just resize with Paint. (At least this is how I did mine)

but doesn't it assume that all that white space on the clipboard of paint is part of the picture as well?

You can use paint to change the size of the pic, the stretch/skew works well to reduce the size, then you can crop it further if you want.
Hmm thats the crop function Foul, not riding crop

You can copy the picture part leaving out the white and paste it as a new pic, just set the attribute beforehand to 50 x 50 pixels

Ok, i set the attribute, but now instead of re-sizing the pic to fit, it just takes the upper left hand corner of the pic

Nonsense you're a genious :)
On the paint toolbar under the image menu is attributes, click on that to set the size of the image. Thats also where the stretch/skew function is. then after the attribute is set you st it

You need to use the stretch/skew to get it down to proper size and the paste it on the new paint board.
Sometimes you have to use additional cropping of the pic with the cut function on the main paint tools
