Re: the Wrigley Field:
Money, money, money.
Before the mods get on me for spamming off-topic, I'll officially hijack this thread as the "Welcome to SYM, Tanis" thread.
Some more advice for our new friend Tanis:
Vivien is one of the most popular members of SYM because she's so empathic; she really feels your pain when you're having a bad day.
(Is your day completely shot now, McBane?)

If she were only here now, to see how much her absence pains me...

Oh, I guess you are...Hello Viv! How are you doing? **looks around nervously** Erm, we were just welcoming Tanis to SYM. When did you get here?

Busted!
::Looks for Beldin (who's not here right now) ::
Beldin started it.
Quick, McBane!!! Distract her!
Nice day to welcome a new SYMmer, eh?

As for this, it's not for a year and a half at the earliest. I'm working on it. My '15 year plan' was shot down in flames (that way we're truly sure and committed, and yet he doesn't see it that way). So, I'm working on a '2 year plan' now.
Plus we don't really view the wedding in the same way. He wants the big traditional wedding with tons of family spilling cake on each other and a keg of beer. Don't get me wrong, I like the beer part
But, I think a nice wedding would be the two of us at sunset (or under the full moon) on a beach just stating our love. Plus, as a bonus, we could wear our swimsuits underneath and go swimming right afterwards!
(or better yet, no swimsuits and skinny dipping)
So, yes, we're trying to compromise.
*hugs Bedlin, HLD and McBane*
Tanis: Welcome

Rofl
I've been here for just a few minutes, unfortunately the evidence is right out in the open. tsk. I had thought lawyers were more careful? Weren't you afraid of what I might do to you?
HLD:
Hmm...and yet YOU started it in your kind post about me being huggable.
I bet Tanis feels extremely welcome now, though I feel a bit bad for spamming his thread

Hey, Vivien, keep that up and McBane won't be able to function for a week!
So have a big, traditional wedding. At the beach. Then get hammered at the reception and throw the groom in the ocean/pool (just make sure that you have lots of lifeguards around).
My wedding advice:
1) Don't do anything because someone else says "you have to." It's your big day, not your mother's.
2) Pay for everything yourself. That way your mother (or his!) can't co-opt your wedding to fulfill all of her wishes.
3) Unless it's poisonous or completely unpalatable, no will will ever complain about the food, because it's free.
4) Make sure that your cake is edible. There's nothing worse than wedding cake that has the taste and texture of corrugated cardboard.
5) You shouldn't be cheap, but don't get caught up in spending gobs of money of stuff you don't need or want just because it's in the catalog (like matchbooks and napkins with your names on them). People don't care that your table linens and curtains match or that your topiaries are only 18" high.
6) Have lots of showers. The free stuff is half the reason for getting hitched, anyway.
7) The groom doesn't need anthing more than a basic black tuxedo. No one cares what he's wearing anyway (it's only marginally important that he's even there).

I categorically deny everything. Beldin started it; that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

He didn't have a "no spam" disclaimer in the thread title, so don't feel bad.

I am a witness!! It was all Beldin

Thanks, McBane, I'll dance at your wedding. See, Vivien, both McBane and I are totally innocent of any wrongdoing and/or innuendo. It was all Beldin, who is solely culpable for the spam appearing in Tanis's thread. I would also like to state for the record that Beldin is also to blame for global warming, Michael Jordan's knee problems, Britney's varying cup size, the Spice Girls and the demise of Atari.

I'd pay real money to see that. I'd pay even more to video tape it, too.

Video tape? That's going a little too far...
Fear not, as I shall have a camera rolling

Welcome Tanis, just look around and see what you have gotten yourself into.
@McBane....I am disgusted....hitting on these ladies of SYM, have you no shame?......
looks over shoulder, yes, my boss has left....
As I was saying McBane....good work, keep it up man.
HLD, it is good to see the blame being put where it belongs, square on the shoulders of those not present to defend themselves..
@Viv....
