Well, there's a Kelsey plug in Quitch's long post in that sticky thread, so that's probably sufficient, right?
Besides, a few extra reminders for people never hurt.
True, true. A barrel of laughs Kelsey was. Going to import him to ToB; I completed the game too fast for the romance to bloom/flower, so to speak.
Oh, and *bump*.

Just remember that Kelsey doesn't have anything to say in TOB just yet. Working on that.
And if you're comfortable with ShadowKeeper or the console, you can always prod the romance in SOA ahead by tweaking J#KELSEYROMANCE (just set it to something low, like 1, to trip the timer.)
A couple of Kelsey LTs are either rest or location-dependent but nothing nearly as onerous as the Jaheira conditions that had people scratching their heads...

indeed, I specifically recruited Anomen just to watch them bicker over my pc, it was very funny

@jcompton: hurry up with that ToB dialogs!!!
I'll download the final version (my connection is a slow dial up...),
don't like to have too many patches!
So we have to take Anomen to have more fun?
hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm............

The TOB portion will almost assuredly be distributed as an add-on pack, rather than a new version of Kelsey--that way people don't have to download all of the SOA material again. So you're quite "safe" downloading and playing Kelsey through SOA now.

While playing last night I discovered much to my considerable chagrin that the multiromance patch does not work with the Kelsey and Anomen situation.

I haven't dowloaded Kelsey yet but probably will. Just one question? What is his starting level and spell selection? I mean if he is level 12 when you get him and has choosen contagion, know alignment etc then, well you know what I mean. Anyone?

Hi Bruce,
I pilfered the following extract from the downloaded readme:
"If you add Kelsey to your party shortly after entering Athkatla, he will be
a Level 9 Sorcerer, with a solid mix of known spells appropriate to that
level. However, if you have a higher level of experience when he is first
added, Kelsey, like the other in-game NPCs, will come with a similarly
larger XP value.
HOWEVER, he will still appear to be Level 9, and in need of a level-up.
This is deliberate. Because spell selection greatly affects the playing
strategy for a sorcerer, we did not want to make any more decisions for
you, the player, than were necessary. We actually considered leaving
virtually all of the spell selection up to players, but it seemed best to
provide a ready-to-go Level 9 Kelsey, then leave the high-level spell
decisions open for you."
Hope that helps.

@jcompton: ok, just started with getright!!

Bruce: Here are Kelsey's spell picks when you get him. If you really detest them you can always use Shadow Keeper but I think it's a fine mix.
1st level-
Burning Hands
Chromatic Orb
Magic Missile
Protection from Evil
Spook
2nd level-
Blur
Glitterdust
Melf's Acid Arrow
Vocalize
3rd level-
Fireball
Flame Arrow
Slow
4th level-
Stoneskin
Fireshield Red
Littiz:
The differences between 1.0.0 and 1.0.1 are fairly minor, but unfortunately it's actually kind of tricky to patch them in-place, and the TOB content patch will probably NOT mess with the SOA portion of the game.

Take it as your fifth 2nd level spell slot when you level Kelsey up, then.
I agree that MI is terrific, but we left that slot open so you could take it if you want.

Okay I am convinced- I'll take Kelsey they way he is.
All this talk sort of reminds of reading an Asimov novel with Kelsey being a new model Robot
Kelsey brings you... Kelsey is compatible with...
hehe hrm well anyway I'll see what he brings to my gaming experience.

Just wondering, are Ceara and Co supposed to show up repeatedly? I am curious because I have been getting the same dialogues when they reappear, the only difference being progressively more challenging battles.....

Not sure myself, dragon. I thought their appearance was an excuse for me to kill them again and level up some more!
Cheers.

Oooh, no, that's quite bad. And more than one of you seeing it. We'll look into it. Sorry you're having that trouble.
You could help us track this bug down if you'd be willing to answer a few questions...
1. After you kill Ceara and her band, is Kelsey initiating a conversation? If so, is it "I...don't...excuse me a moment, I feel sort of ill." or something else?
2. Is Ceara showing up every seven to ten game days? Or more or less often?
3. Using the cheat console or ShadowKeeper, can you see what the value of global variable J#CearaFight is? (CLUAConsole:GetGlobal("J#CearaFight","GLOBAL")

Thanks!
1. After the battle, Kelsey initiates the conversation where he thanks my pc for sticking up for him, and states how he fears that Ceara will be back.....
2. This has happened between about 3 and 7 game days.
3. Next time I play I will see what happens with the CLUAConsole
