If your main char is a tank, just keep your party at the southern edge of the map and approach Draconis alone. When the time stop expires lure him to the north and kill him there. Since I didn't have the +1 immunity, I used the hit and run tactic (Boots of Speed). When he turns into the dragn form, well, "retreat"
to your party. Draconis does follow you, but he's pretty slow. This way you have more than enough time to face Draconis well prepared.

Draconis is tough. He's pretty ineffective in his human form - and I accidentally discovered for myself the fact that he couldn't hurt my PC whilst whaling on him during his Time Stop - and I toasted him quickly, via greater whirlwind attacks, haste, etc. Aerie was wearing the Robe of Vecna and also had the Amulet of Power (both reduces casting time), and she was loaded with secret words, breech, pierce shields, etc. His heal really bothered me alot, which makes killing this one much harder to accomplish.
I lowered his resistance, nailed him with a number of spells - such as Khelben's Warding whip - doomed him, sent hungry insects after him, tried a planetar or two (they die, unfortunately), used true sight, and pummeled him with magic missles for a round or so. All the while, my cavalier with Carsomyr +6 and alot of greater whirlwind attacks (all while hasted, of course) kept at him. Aerie was never touched, and Sarevok emerged ok. Jaheira also was fine, but spent alot of time laying on the ground from his wing buffets. Anomen also made it. Jan, on the other hand...
Anyway, I downed him the first time I tried, but I sweated a bit. I've taken him on with another party, and had to reload a few times. I now consider him to be the toughest dragon in the game, but I wonder how tough that silver dragon back in SoA is...just curious. Anyone know?
Edit: Oh, of course, I love the battle music when you fight both Draconis and Abazigal. Very cool. Worth having the fight!

Without the Improved Abazigal from the Solaufein Mod I would say Draconis is more difficult.. On the other hand I haven't tried Abazigal with the "upgrade"... Oh well, so long as he isn't immune to time stop, I don't suppose he will pose any threat to me...

For the Improved Abizgal i would have to say he is now a bit tougher than Draconis. Not that I want to spoil the fun to be had for those who have yet to try the improved abizgal, but the arguement of abizgal vs draconis is still debatable but the abizgal BATTLE is certianly more difficult. Draconis had me reload once,,,,the improved abizigal had me reload 10- or 12 times. NEVER have i had to reload that many times with that party.

I did both Draconis and Abi, by making my assassin to spike trap area. Then i fought them in their human form, and when they transformed, I lured them to traps. Zap, zap, zap....ooooh no! This can´t be? I am defeated by inferior yadda-yadda etc...
Took couple of tries to get it right though.

Abazigal and Draconis are worthy opponents, no question about it. But fighting them just isn't the same as fighting Firkraag for the first time, as he bellowed, "Time to die, manling!" That's the kind of intimidation you just can't ignore.

I think it was "Time to perish manling!!" Followed by a phycotic laugh.
It was the laugh that did it for me... oh and having half my party obliterated by his breathe

Draconis was the easiest dragon of them all....
All you need is 1 fighter and 1 sorcerer with robe of vecna, amulet of power, time stop, improved alacrity and attack spells...
Fighter kills Draconis is human form
When Draconis transforms, lower resistance 3-5 times and blast away...3 abi dalhzims wiltings made very short work of Draconis
If you don't have the equipment to speed up spells just time it so you start casting time stop just as the first one ends, making it so you get double to time to release your wrath.

Didn´t have too much of a prob with Draconis, beat him in the first try if I remember correct... used a monk+g.whirlwind + minsc and sarevok to attack his dragon form, Immie got him pretty well with some energy blades.

Draconis is definitely more difficult, because he uses unique tactics that no other dragon has ever used before. All the other conformist dragons do use several spells, but they mainly go for melee or breaths. But this one constantly goes invisible, summons while killing off the player's, moves faster than a character with Boots of Speed, and worst of all, conducts hit-and-run guerilla warfare. These unconventional aspects make scoring hits with spells or weapons an excruciating experience.
Now his dad leads a common lifestyle. I killed him on first attempt, then realized Anomen was gone, by which I mean his portrait disappeared. So I scrolled back to see what happened and saw that he took 200+ lightning damage from the breath attack. Now that was total BS.

I find it ironic you forge armor that grants 90% elec rez after beating the only thing that delivers enough electricity to destry your characters.
