Why not try "Titanic Junior?"

Or (I just saw Forrest Gump again), you could name it after your girlfriend, like "Jenny," or perhaps in your case, "Helga." :D

ROFL @ Weasel & Kid# :D

anyway, extensive research has brougfht to my fingers a massive pool of knowledge on greek names- so I'll post em here just in case any lurkers need a username, anyone needs a name for a new BG PC or a pot modern death-metal album, or if anyone happens to buy a boat before this thread gets buried...

Prometheus - bound to a rock, you know the one: Means 'forethought' and 'wisdom'.
Epimetheus - brother of [above] means 'afterthougt' and 'foolishness'
Cronus - Castrating and child-eating titan
Hyperion - titan of light; the Sun, Moon and Dawn
Belerophon - killed the Manticore, rode pegasus
Potamos - River
Hydrus - Water Snake
Potizo - Water (running)
Ergasia - Labour
Drakontas - Dragon
Psarevo - Fish
Grigoras - Fast
Pestrofa - Trout
Schara - Barbecue
Skorpios - Scorpion
Sofia - Wisdom
Thanatos - Death

so there you go. Have fun! ;) :)

Paradise Lost (Book 1, I think)

If you want Irish, I would suggest either MannanĂ¡n Mac Lir (the sea god), Aeife (the witch who transformed the children of Lir into swans) or Sionan, who jumped into a river to catch the salmon of knowledge, and drowned. The river Shannon is named after her.

But Bob and SInky are good too :D

@Frogus: Many classical Greek and Roman names related to the sea, such as Neptune, Poseidon, etc are extremly common boat names, so I suggest you not choose any of the famous names. In harbours, you often see 3-4 boats named Levithan or Poseidon.

If you want a name connected to sea gods or spirits, I'd suggest you take it from a less known mythology such as the Nordic sea god Njord or the Polynesian Tangaroa or Kanaloa.

Here's a link to sea and water related gods in different mythologies:

http://www.cybercomm.net/~grandpa/water_gods.html

If you want a classical Greek name, I suggest you go for one of the lesser sea deities, such as Glaucus, Leucothoea or any of the Nereids (sea godesses, daugthers of Posedon) or Naiads (water nymphs).

Here's a list of Nereids:
http://homepage.mac.com/cparada/GML/NEREIDS.html

And a list of Naiads:
http://homepage.mac.com/cparada/GML/NYMPHS.html

There are also many river deities in Greek mythology in case that is suitable.

Good luck with naming your boat!

Lorelei is always a good one. I called my first BG2 character Lorelei, and it's also in Lainy's sig.

Wind Chaser, Wave Dancer and River Dreaming are all okay as well.

Seriously I think a lesser known diety's name is better. I mean the greek thing is over done. Maybe celtic or something.
