About Roy Keane, I don't get it. Why is he so ****y? Is he getting too much salary? He was the captain of the team for crying out loud, and should've been an example for the rest...

And about that incident inside Swedish team - I think it surely shows that there's not everyting OK inside the team. But that's much easier to understand than the Keane issue. They just got a bit hotheaded during practice that's all.

Well I cannot make up my mind between Italy and France (though the French will miss Zidane). Spain are always hot contenders too :)

what's with you Robnark? :D :D :) . You're bringing us all down man... :( ;) . You should check out the top I made for the World Cup, if you need a bit of football spirit - the Queen's face (like on coins) with crossbones underneath.  :D plus Lions, Crosses of St. G, and I'm thinking about adding an Andy Warholised (complete with makeup) SGE stencil on the back... :D Good times...

italy has by far the most skillful players in the cup, followed very closely by argentina, but del piero, totti, nesta, cannavaro and totti or buffon in the goal, they can't lose, they have the skill but it's the same thing as what moley said about argentina, too many ego's? who knows...

englands always been close to it, they won't win it for a long long time if ever?

france has good team and i cheered them when they beated those snobby brazilians 1998, they might be close to the top.

what's with everyone talking that spain is going to go all the way???? they may have 2 players worth mentioning but the rest of their team sucks! they've never been even close AFAIR they won't make it this time either, they always choke on big games...

one thing is for certain that i'm so pleased that it doesn't even bother that finland once again didn't make it to the tournament, and that is that sweden has nigeria, england and argentina in their group, too bad that one of those three(sweden excluded naturally isn't going to make it)

I'm pretty sure that Zidane is included in the team, he was just late waiting for his third son's birth.

That's my reservation too, although I still hold Argentina as favorites for the cup. Often in team sports, the team with the best individual players, does not win.

@Locke: Snobby Brazilians? What are you saying about my beloved "samba-football"? Perhaps I should be happy Finland did not qualify? ;)

You are pleased Sweden is the "group of death"? Why so? You don't like Swedish football?

I could probably justify that comment by Locke. :p

Being a supporter of France, I was pretty dissapointed by comments made from the Brazillian squad about France's chances as well as Ronaldo going over the whole 98 final again  ;)

with snobby brazilians i mean i don't like them, sure they have good players but i don't like them

there's nothing wrong with swedish football(that much anyway)... well the truth is that even if finland doesn't qualify or loses it doesn't get to me as long as sweden isn't much better... :p so in this->sweden maybe in the tournament, but they won't win a single game hah

okay, i just came back with my time machine, the 3rd place went to portugal, 2nd place to argentina and 1st place to italy, sorry for ruining it for ya... :p

LOL! :D He is always good for many points! ;) Highest scorer in the last campaign.

Sadly, I don't fancy Ireland's chances - with or without Keane. If they make it through (as runners up), they would probably have to face Spain in the next round. No way IMO.

Well it seems that Zidane will be out for the first two games after having an injury during a friendly match with South Korea. See here.

BTW did anyone tried out 2002 Fifa World Cup (TM) game? the resemblance of the players is impressive. :D

Well those Koreans are known for their hard tackling since their frst WC attendance. Hopefully France can get by on first 2 games without Zizou :)

If they cannot overcome the first two games without Zidane how will they defend thier crown? :)
