Caenorhabditis Elegans, C Elegans for short, is a a free living soil nematode. The little roundworm is about 1mm long, and all of it's 959 somatic cells are transparent and visible in microscope.

C Elegans was the first multicellular creature to get it's whole genome sequenced, and it has been used extensively not only in genetic research but also in studying many intracellular processes and the interplay between genes and expression of genes. (For instance apoptosis, pre-programmed cell death, crucial for our understanding of cancer as well as the aging process.)

I have unmasked a scandal!!!! It would appear that not only did Buck moonlight in many bands, he also produced a child called...Vivian!!! At the risk of having my privates removed by a very blunt knife, may I suggest that this very same daughter is on these very boards under a not-very-different pseudonym, and since she hates to be called Vivian, I have unmasked her!!!
