@ Andaar

I know how you feel. I cried when the final battle at Suldnesslar with some of the things my computer-generated friends said! **severe blush**

@ DC11

Nice to know that somebody is very willing to express thier love for Jaheira. :D

But if I hate a druid most of all, it's Cernd. I hated Faldorn in BG1 (The only one standing between me and my Grove!) but I reaaaaally hate Cernd -as a charactor and a druid.

Keldorn just does some of the irkiest things to get on my nerves. His ToB dialogue with Imoen is pretty hillarious, however. But still...ugh.

Favorite is probably Haer'Dalis, because he's well spoken and enjoys things because they have something intriguing, whether it be good or evil. Someone without morals, he's just the stuff for my party.

Hated would probably be one of those stick in the mud types who keep yacking about ballance and all that jazz. Cernd, Jahera.... put Anomen in there too, I don't like his attitude.

favs (in about that order):
Viconia - i *loved* the romance, absolutely great.
Aerie - her attitude can b annoying sometimes, but interesting. her abilities rock.
Cernd - (yes, cernd!) love his attitude and dialogues. abilities dont suck that bad after all.
Imoen - getting her early she rox, otherwise she is just there.
Valygar - if only he spoke some words. very useful tho.

hated:
korgans attitude and dialogues. however, as a fighter he rox.
haer'dalis. nice dialogues, but i just cannot use bards it seems. sucky THAC0 and not-so-gr8 spells.

Well, I have seen a thread like this 4 or 5 times in only a month. So people should start reading threads that already exists..... I'm getting a little tired of reading the some posts over and over again.
I think that every subject which will ever be discussed in here has already been discussed, but if people just stopped posting altogether that would be boring. Also, as you can tell from the number of people with less than 40 posts or so, the GB community is very dynamic, so quite a lot of people have only just joined...it's nice to hear their opinions too :) .

As for favourite NPCs...I really liked Keldorn. He's a bit of a ponce, but he really is a decent bloke, plus he's the only person who actually looks over 26...
Aerie was alright too, but she's whiney as anything, and if she wasn't such a king-hell spellcatser I wouldn't have tolerated her....*feels a bit like a strict school ma'am* Hehee... :D

Nalia *spit*, Cernd, *spit* and Haer-*spit*-ing Daelis are the banes of my existance. Imoen and Yoshi got on my nerves too, as did Jaheira a little. Yeah. I'm not really a people person...

Dear Helm, Frogus! Is there anyone you didn't name in your "Hate List" ?! Mr. Anti-Social...I'm not even that bad!

You know who I hate? I hate Yoshimo...That little backstabbing fink...erk!

Jan because of the dialogue, he is quite pathetic when compared to the others.

Not once you hit ToB. Then he can get the thieves' ability to use any item. Combine that with the ability to learn all spells and backstab, and you have a character who can sneak into the middle of action and kill many things with a single shot.

NPCs

My favourite? hmmm... tough one.... id prolly say the purple chick... er... i mean Viconia...

I know that everyone always has a whinge about how b****y she is but the fact of the matter is she is an interesting character and watching her capitulate during the romance is rather cool.

I however have a lot of NPCs that are my least favourite (if that is indeed possible) but Valygar, Nalia, Aerie, Haer-Dalis are the worst offenders.

By the way Jaheira is kinda cool if only because she has that sexy accent and I dont mind Anomen cause he is opiniated like most clerics are! :p

I also dont understand why someone hasnt shoved a spear through Jan's head - I think if I was in a party with him and he started having a go at me like he does some of the other characters then I would lose it and knock his block off! :D

Ahh the elusive ToB. I should get that soon :o :D

I have only seen him up until the end of SoA but don't you feel that the UAI ability is umm....well.....cheesy? ;)

To be frank, I feel that nearly all the abilities, spells and monsters in ToB are cheesy. That's not because ToB is cheesy itself, but because when you reach that level of character in AD&D, all that's left is every character on both sides indulging in overkill like power mad nations. If thieves didn't get the ability to use any object, they'd be just about the only profession let out minus the AD&D equivalent of a thermonuclear bomb. Just my POV. :D

@Aqua-chan

lol, i almost cried when Kerrigan betrayed Raynor in Starcraft...everyone did...didn't they??? Please don't tell me I'm the only one...... :D

@ Frogus

Did you enjoy BG2 at all? :D

@ Littiz

Go Planescape: Torment! That's one of the reasons i liked Haer'Dalis, even if he is a Doomguard. And yes, Annah ranks right up there as one of my favourite game chars of all time...along with the rest of the P:T chars, Guybrush Threepwood, Sam n' Max and Tassadar, Jimmie Raynor and Kerrigan

@Everyone

Actually, I liked Yoshimo quite a bit before he backstabbed me...he was a very cool and witty type samurai-type dude (except samurai follow a code of HONOUR).

But remember, as Saemon Havarian said, Yoshimo was just doing what "good business dictates". Seems there are a few Lando Calrissians in BG2...The Empire Strikes Back anyone?

I'd put Yoshi more in the Yakuza camp myself :)

@Andaar: beyond the jokes, really I think Annah is the best
character ever created. Or simply, let's say the char I loved
the most!
Harsh like Viconia, but good like Immie!
She's involving, as much as the game itself.
Add the great voice acting..
They should have put her in BG2, along with the items "from Torment"!!
:( :(
or at their place

Hey, I'm not joking...the P:T chars are very cool...especially Annah (and Dak'kon!).

Implementing them into BG2? Well that sounds like a challenge for those skilled modders out there that are making new NPCs like Kesley, Tashia and Soulafein.

I was actually making a githzerai NPC for BG2 but making the dialogue was quite...confusing. I put him in the Five Flagons and he would never stop doing his introductory speech (even if you told him to get lost). Still, I might try making him again when Icewind Dale 2 comes out.

Oh, we would be askin' a bit too much I fear! :D

BTW, I'll play again Torment, sooner or later...
