No, that was the reason behind Sleepy's attraction to Yaga-Shura... :D

Sleep, is there something you wanna tell us? :p ;)

What? NOBODY is attracted to Illasera (Sp?)? You know, that goth chick you first meet up with in ToB?

Funny. I thought she'd be the first to get picked up...

To all ye fans of romancable male npcs... I have to ask your opinion on this dialogue, yet I know its overly flowery but heck it IS a bard

“I am lost in myself and that you seem to bore through me apealing to my very self who is clouded,
troubled by sensitive shadows writhing within hands that are not hands. Cold winds brush my hopes and
make them flicker high, yet still I see something in you grow beyond the worlds and reach up to dizzy
vacua above the spheres of light and darkness its forming heralded by maddening beating of drums and
the thin, monotonous whine of blasphemous flutes its esscense pouring out from inconceivable unlighted
chambers beyond time. In the revolting graveyard of the universe behind that detestable pounding and
piping wherunto dance slowly, arkwardly and absurdly the gigantic tenebreous ultimate gods. Beyond
even this the blind, voiceless, mindless gargoyle whose soul is bhaal rests to whom my salvation is kin”

Obvoisly, without knowing the contects its a little hard to critisize, but i stil want y'all to critisize it.. its the only way it will get better

Btw.. i know this is off topic, so... ANOMEN KELSEY SOLUFEIN BLAH BLAHBLAH blING BLING BLING BLAH

@Gnomethingy-If you want a hand with dialogues just email me and I'll try to help you out, if you need/want it. I'm pretty good with written english and I've got a lot of spare time at the moment, read the first DF SLURR-merchant entry if you want an example of my work.
Obviously I'd try and do better for a custom-made NPC, the DF thing started out as being mainly for a joke by Beldin, Eerhardt and I.

As far as the dialogue goes, it's a bit over-the-top. You want it to be flowery with bards, but not too flowery.

And I agree totally, ANOMEN KELSEY SOLUFEIN BLAH BLAHBLAH blING BLING BLING BLAH.

Ode.. I theres three ppl working on the dialogues, one person writed something.. emails it to everyone else, we all make changed.. we all email it to each other, we all phone each other and compain, we all meet each other and argue.. one of us threatans to kill the others if they dont leave x in and ect ect
thats probably why its so over the top, couse three poeple all want to add there two cents, that is a fairly pivotal dialogue however, theres a little more in it that kind of makes is make sense but I did nay add it couse i requires a pc responce and I would have had to do like 80 different things and that makes me sad

what boot this un?

“And fates again label me preist, worshiper and servant. Humbled in spirit I am before you. For while with our swords and spells, we who follow you are usefull it is your indomitable will that promises us ultimate victory. my life is your coin, spend it as you choose, I would rather die for you than live for myself”
Thats before going to meet a certain bad mage with a fetish for other peoples souls who shall remain nameless

That one's quite a bit better, but try it with these changes and tell me what you think.

"And fates again label me priest, worshipper and servant. Humbled in spirit am I before you. For while we who follow you are skilled with blade and spell, it is your indomitable will that grants us promise of ultimate victory. My life is your coin, spend it as you so choose, truly I would rather die in service to you than live for myself alone.”

EDITED to make a minor change or two to the dialogue, which I should have changed before.

Heh. Of course you did. It was fate. We were originally going to use Garrick's pic for Kelsey (my idea, I had used Garrick's pic for Kelsey from the very beginning), but people came by our site and said "No, we hate Garrick, use something else." So we went through all that trouble, just to have people change it back to Garrick. :)

As an aside, Karse Soze of Portrait Portal fame tried his hand at making a Kelsey pic out of the same source pic that went into the first one, and the background is somewhat more muted. The pics are included in the Kelsey 1.0.4 patch.

Really? **falls over laughing** Well, I have this horrible habit --and Ode will agree with me here-- of just absolutely falling in love with the most-hated charactors in the BG saga. ;) :D

But I never had a problem with Garrick's picture. Sure, it took some getting used to, but I adjusted. Sorry that you had to go through the entire portrait re-creation process, but that's an aspect of life, I suppose. The convincing minority persuades you to change something, while the silent majority will just change it back anyway.

...But what a coink-y-dink. ;) :p :D

Exactly, but it makes quite a difference overall doesn't it?

@AC-I was sharpening my scalpel ready to dissect your pro-Anomen speech, but the coink-y-dink comment was cute and made me laugh. :) It shall live another day.
Garrick wasn't so bad, but his picture made him look a bit queer.

Thanks, Ode. I'm glad my incorrect use of English dialogue has at least one advantage.

At gnomethingie, you may wanna use Ode's writing instead. Nobody wants to read fifty words when the general idea can be put into less than twenty. Poetry is nice, but don't overdo it. Some people may even get so bored with the dialoques that they may even just drop the guy from the party.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but, nobody wants another version of Anomen in BG2.

 :( ;) @ Ode

I liked it, I thought it was intentional. Where're you from and what's your first language, BTW?

:o *bows* :D

Victory! Victory at last! ;) :D

@Gnomethingy-If you want any help my offer still stands. I can probably do the same thing to most of the dialogue you can throw at me, and it will make it run that much more smoothly. BTW, it's never a good thing having too many writers, I believe it was best said that "Too many cooks spoil the broth". I won't create stuff, I'll just streamline it for you if you want.

It *was* intentional! I'm full-blooded Americanese, I'll have you know! Born and bred on beach-front property in Nebraska, currently living in the rainforests of Texas.

I'm going to learn some Italian for my trip in 2003, though. :D

P.S. - Don't push it, Ode. ;) :p

Then I was right, and it was cute, like I said. :)
I didn't know Texas had rainforests...

I always push it, sweetie, it keeps life from becoming boring. :D

 I liked the old Transformers, I practically grew up playing with those things. Galvatron was awesome.

Was galvatron a bad guy? Forgive my bad memory....

All i remember is they changed into stuff, it would have been more usefull however if there were the following

Widescreendigitaltvatron

Overclockedp4withhighfbsramatron

and so on... transformers you could really use

Unfortunatly ode, the thing you said about too many cooks is definatly ture.... and without meaning to sound critical or mean, you would only be another cook.. I already have three people looking over my shoulder and adding there 2cents as it is

Yep. I could have used him on quite a lot of occasions IRL, who wouldn't be able to find a use for a futuristic laser-firing cannon that could turn into a large death-dealing robot? ;)

*Sniff* :(
Nah, just kidding. :D I get you, you have enough people already. No hard feelings. :)
