The difference between men and women can be summed up in the following two examples:

1) Women wash dishes after they use them. Men wash dishes before they use them.

2) If you ask a man, "What's wrong?" and he replies, "Nothing", then nothing is wrong. Period. If you ask a woman, "What's wrong?" and she replies, "Nothing" then you're going to stay up all night talking about what's wrong.

For all of my ideas of the diferences beetween Men and Women, the only one I think have sense and I keep, is that, in general, Womans are more inconstant, I mean more entropy in Womans personality(Ps:I'm not valorating this peculiarity as positive or negative).
All other diferences I think are related to cultural facts.
(I'm obviously ignoring physical diferences.)

My condition, as a man, make more easily for me to predict men's actions than women actions, what is obviously. Fact that make the oposite sex even more fascinating, to pass throught the "language" distinction.

There is other major diference that we must point. To become pregnant. Raise a life inside of their own body is the most marvelous gift I ever see. Something none of us, men, can ever do. All woman should say "Thanks" to the Reality for this gift.
[Sorry about my English]

Ps: I'm "Ivan Cavallazzi".

To be slightly serious  I really don't think that there's that much of a chasm between men and women, and all this "men are from Mars, women are from Venus" nonsense just exacerbates the problem. Men and women have more in common than different between them.

@Dottie Ode said that, not me ;)

Since you dared, so shall I. :)

Talking to persons you feel something for is always much more difficult than talking to persons you just are friends with. Often you try to hide what you really feel behind inuendo and jokes since that makes the chance of embarrasment considerably less. Also you might be more afraid of hurting that person and therefor avoid being as honest as you wished. When you talk to someone and there is no sexual tension or complicated feelings (The same sex in most of the cases) its easier being honest. Thats imo the origin behind all this men from mars, women from venus BS. :)

Edit: Obviosly there are cultural influences as well, but I dont feel like ranting about them now. ;)

what do you mean 99%??? :D :p i'd say it's closer to 110% or 115%...

if men would say what they think, they would get slapped across the face everytime they talk to a woman they are attracted to... so after 5000 years of getting slapped, men have finally understanded the fact that it's better to beat it around the bush so to speak, thus you get better results... :D

Well, that's the crux of the matter, isn't it? I mean, if you can't talk to someone with whom you have a deep relationship with as a friend, then why bother? It will never last if your partner in life is not also your friend. MHO.

I dont disagree, But you dont neccesarily have a deep relationship
with someone you have feelings for. Also a deep relationship
doesnt always mean a lasting or working relationship.

Ah, but wouldn't it be nice to approach all relationships, deep or not, sexual or not, as one would a friendship?

it's easy to talk to ppl you've known your whole life, friends, 'cause you know what their interests are, but you really can't hit it off with someone who isn't the slightest interested in the same things you are.

Indeed, And I try to. But our culture makes it difficult in many ways.

Here's my three cents (shuddap, I wann be differnt ;) :D )

Men and women are more alike then people like to think. It's just that men have been unfortuneate enough to be given the stereotype of being out for nothing more then sex, which is complete bull. It is a proven fact that women are in fact more easily aroused, and more eager for sexual relationships then men (For proof, just check out a male strip joint, then a female one). That doesn't mean some of the stereotypes aren't true, it's just that I know many girls that I have met, am friends with or whatever the relation, that have initiated the more physical aspect of it, before their partner. I also (and this is from personal experiance, some of you can vouch on that one) know that women tend to use men, more then the other way around.

Inevitably, both sexes are out for the same thing, and thats sex. It's just how either side goes about getting it.

I think in this discussion it is also important to remember that historically women have been encouraged to hide their sexual desires.
